On one of my visits to UK from Australia, I travelled on this railway but didn't have time to inspect the town at the terminus. Great to see further progress. Loved the scenes at Eardington: a classic UK branch line station. Wonderful clips of the Highley Box and professionally attired volunteers, just like Puffing Billy in Melbourne. Let's pray that COVID-19 'diminishes' as it's so far more severe in UK than in my island nation.

Those model layouts are brilliant. I love that model excavator! And he doesn't spill a drop. Good sound effects on the one at 13:48 too.

Alan, even without your background notes, this video epitomises your affection for the SVR with a wonderful balance between background and foreground and plenty of what lies between. Your tremendous level of input and attention to detail make this a joy to watch. I cannot possibly comment on everything, but here are just some of the points which caught my eye:- Wasn't that 75069 departure at the beginning so perfectly controlled! Your close-up of the blacksmith's work on the anvil sums up what an open house should be about. The printed sheets explaining what is going on in the workshops not only inform but also make the visitor feel a part of the event (full marks to those who produced them). 7714 moving to and fro at Bewdley was magical. The model railway layouts could have filled a separate video on their own, they are fascinating; I specially liked the Q1 at Kidderminster. With all the on-board and main-line action as well, I could go on and on, but will stop short of an essay! Kind regards, Bob.

Absolutly brilliant Alan, not being an SVR regular it was a fascinating look at all aspects of the operation..... with extras!! Seems you had a great weekend yourself and thanks for the time aftewards to edit & produce for our enjoyment. Just a point about the opening shot...... The extended opening of drain cocks creates a lovely wet rail and the potential for slipping, while looking spectacular I continue to wonder what it achieves!! Well done anyway Alan, a great watch. Best Regards, Brian.

To me "behind-the-scenes" at workshops and how-to-do scenes offers the real spirit of a preserved railway. I always enjoy such footage. - Heinz

This is a wonderfully varied look all the SVR has to offer, and there's plenty to see! I've never been anywhere near the SVR but it's certainly well worth a visit. I liked the way you varied the content Alan, between the workshops, model railways and the main line trains, and the workshops looked to have a very full order book. I'm not in my prime any more but I'd love to visit perhaps by train. Thanks so much, it makes great viewing! Best wishes from Ken

Thank you Ken. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the video and that it gave you a taste of what's in store when you visit. The railway is very 'old folk' friendly, I'm a very fortunate eighty!! Kind regards Alan
