That's Wannamal rest area on the Bindoon-Moora Rd, one of the best 24 hour stops in the state. There are local caretakers who come in every day and clean the toilets and bbq. Really well maintained and reasonably quiet during the night (traffic) Gets busy during wildflower season though.

This is a pretty good 24 hr rest stop. I'm impressed with this for WA. They do need a lot more of them for travellers to take a stop, and rest instead of driving tired because the ordinary roadside is too uninviting. There is definitely some restfulness to this stop. 😀

Agreed. I've stayed at this one personally and it's a good one.

A tip for travellers wanting to use the bbq installation , carry with you a silicone cooking mat or two to place on the surface , that way your food is shielded from any potential contaminants . The mat is lightweight and takes up very little space and can be washed .

They are an awesome service for the traveller. Unfortunately they do attract the odd weirdo from time to time. They would have more cameras now than when I was travelling in the late 90's. I remember all rest stops were the same then and on my map you could see which ones had toilets. And signs on the road telling what was at the next stop. And there were no time limits. I followed a track at the back of one and found people in a bus that was well set up and could of been there for months. Good video mate.👍

I am assuming they are long drop or drop pit toilets?

This rest stop has normal flushing toilets ...I was there the day this was posted, left approx. 10am. Quiet spot, minimal road noise, Has Telstra coverage but no Optus coverage.
