The A-29 was designed to operate in insurgency and guerrilla situations. The A-10 has an approximate cost per flight hour of $ 17,800. The A-29 has an approximate cost per flight hour of $ 750. If you plan to sweep away regular enemy forces and conquer territory, A-10 is your choice. If you need to fight irregular forces like insurgency or guerrilla warfare for a decade or more as a new democracy consolidates, the A-29 is the best option. Otherwise your budget will not support the prolongation of the conflict. You will tend to cut costs, the war will escalate and you will lose all the work done. For every problem on the battlefield, you need a specific solution.

The only A-29 currently in civilian hands, flies in my part of Colorado cow country quite often. I was lucky enough to get a few pics when it was practicing low approaches. That 1600hp will rattle you to the core.

From what I've seen, these are much lower cost than the fighter jets the US currently uses, they would not replace them but would play an excellent complementary role. Pilots are not that hard to train, and you can have ten of these for every dog-fighter jet.

Reminds me of the spitfires and the mustangs. If the Brazilians can upsize and uparmor this craft to carry 20mm (or 30mm) guns plus hellfires and such, this could become a worthy replacement for the A10.

Val Beaumont 20mm or 30mm cannons would likely fit only in gunpods on the wings. Hellfires and other AGM missles theoretically should be able to be fit no problem, as the plane has advanced enough avionics, only issue i can see would be if the wing pylins don't have the neccesary wiring for data transfer to the weapon.

I noticed the design has the oil/coolant radiators are behind the propeller like the old P-40s. I have never understood why so many were located underneath. It cause engines to cook why they taxied.
