A 320 : ILS Approach

Welcome to Flight Level 070.
Let us discuss on how to execute an ILS Approach in an Airbus A320. This is not a training video, it is just to give a quick recap to people who are already type rated on the A 320. I would love if you guys can give me your inputs, share your experiences and add your suggestions. I have divided the video into 2 parts yet again, to give a brief description on the procedures on how to manage the automation and when and how to configure the aircraft for a successful and standard approach. From here on for any A 320 video I would like all of us to follow the standards on FMA callout as Mandatory, and also make sure we take care of our Standard Callouts. I have tried my best to make this flight as standard as possible. Hope you guys enjoy the effort and keep sending your inputs on what would you like to see from us.

I have a question take the example of TRV/VOTV where you would have to circle in in order to land so while do that maneuver doesn't the A320 get too high on the approach for a flaps 2 callout at 2000FT?

Hi economy flyer. You could be configuring the ac as per your profile as well. This is a std way to configure the ac for the app but nothing stops you from config the ac as per your needs. Airbus has laid down a structure on how to config in a normal scenario which will ensure stabalisation at 1000 ft. In places where glidepaths are steeper you have high tailwinds etc. You will have to take extra measures to ensure stabalisation at 1000ft where in airbus recommends early stabilized approach.
