Watching how y’all hooked up your fresh water tank to your pickup’s battery made me thankful that my 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road has a built in electrical outlet in the bed of my truck. When the engine is off I can draw 100 watts from the outlet, but if the engine is running, I can pull 400 watts of electricity. From factory my 3.5L V6, it produces 278 horsepower and 265 lb ft of torque at 3,800 RPM. Immediately after buying my Tacoma I installed a cold air intake. Within 2 months I had the Overland Torque Tune (OTT) installed into my trucks computer, essentially reprogramming it. My Tacoma now has 318 horsepower and 295 lb ft of torque and now the torque curve comes on at 2,300 RPM. I’ve also noticed 1-3 mpg better fuel efficiency. The speed limit in MT is 80, so I set my cruise on 85 mph and getting 22mpg. Here in WA state our speed limit is 70, so I set my cruise on 75mph and I’m getting just shy of 24mpg. Around town I was getting 16-18mpg. I now consistently get 19-20mpg. My truck also came equipped with the TRD Performance exhaust system. I’ve ordered an AWE dual exhaust for my truck. It’s a true dual exhaust from the exhaust manifolds to the rear. Yeah it’ll sound better but I’m looking for better engine performance. Toyota says that I can tow 6K #, but I don’t want to tow more than 2,800#. This is one of the main reasons why I’m wanting an aluminum trailer so it’ll cut the weight and it won’t rust. I’m pushing 60 years old. I made some very good investments when I was younger and was able to retire when I was 43. My wife still works as a Chemotherapy nurse and she loves her job. Our plan is for her to work for another 8 years so that she can retire at 60. We’ll still be young enough to enjoy our “Golden Years” and have everything paid off. If Communist Biden hadn’t shut down our oil production in America, then my wife could have retired by now. But our Brain Dead Communist Dictator set us back a few years. Oh well, that’s life. So this is why I’m wanting to get started on converting a Cargo Trailer into a camping trailer. I’d like for my wife and I to travel around for a year or so after she retires. Like I’ve said, my wife doesn’t enjoy camping as much as me, but we did rent a motor home last year for a week and she did enjoy herself, so I’m thinking that she’ll enjoy seeing the USA and parts of Canada and Alaska. I’m sure if I let her do a lot of the interior design to the trailer, she’ll feel more at “home” when I’m finished with it.

My wife and I have plans for a two part conversion. The bed and bathroom will be in a long wheelbase cargo van, while the kitchen and crafts studio will be in a cargo trailer of somewhere around this (in the video) size. I had been thinking about putting the fresh water tank in the van, under the bed, and running a hose to the kitchen in the trailer, very similar to Todd's setup. I am pleased to see that it's feasible. :)

I’d love to buy a cargo trailer and convert it into a RV. I’m wanting a 7’ X 14’ to 16’ with a 7’ height with a “V” nose. The additional 2’ up front is where I’ll put my kitchen. An indoor shower is a must. I’ll be purchasing a Cassette toilet. I want the 7’ tall so that I can lift the bed when not in use. I’ll equip my trailer for both Shore power and Solar Power. I’d like to have a torsion rear axles to give me greater ground clearance. I’ll put the grey water tank under the floor and fresh water inside, as our winter temperatures are well below freezing. I’ll insulate as much as possible. I’ve heard that I can do R-7 in the walls, R-14 in the ceiling and I’d like to do R-21 in the floor if possible. I’ll be using a Mini Split for my heat and A/C. I can mount the Heat-pump on the exterior in the front of the trailer. I’m thinking about installing a heated floor, but I need to do more research on that. My wife doesn’t enjoy camping as much as I do but most of my friends enjoy it so we often go for a weekend. Our wives enjoy going off roading with us on Service or Forest roads, but they don’t care for staying overnight or going fishing.

Hi! great question. I bought them full sized from Walmart and Dollars General. I did not need to hem or stitch them. They cut clean and were ready to attach to the cabinets. I used command strip velcro and thumb tacks to attach them. the tack work better it you have heavier items. Velcro worked fine for lighter items. Tack are cheaper. I hope this helps! 😃😃

Bill, we were taught in SC to say mam and sir to everyone of all ages as a show of respect. I taught high school for 30 years, and said mam and sir even to my students and fellow teachers, regardless of their age. Don’t take it as an insult because I assure you it is meant to show respect.
@billanddeb Жыл бұрын
I did not even consider Kim calling me "sir" as an insult. By this time, Deb and I had built a special relationship with Kim and Todd. I fully understand this endearing southern tradition. Rather than view it as an insult, I would rather think that by simply referring to me as "Bill" is showing humility on my part because I ain't nothin special. I'm just plain old Bill.
