♣ The Review of the Travel to Ushguli ♣
It takes approximately 8 to 10 hours (400 km) to take the Marshtka Van from Tbilisi through canyons and cliffs to Ushguli, an ancient settlement and one of Europe's alpine regions.
The journey from Mestia to Ushguli, 48 km away, takes 2 hours and 30 minutes, including breaks along the way.
If you want to travel from Mestia to other destinations such as Ushguli, it is essential to purchase a ticket a day or two in advance at the Mestia Bus Terminal ticket office.
The buildings, including most of the watchtowers, date back to the 9th and 10th centuries, no, most likely more forward, 5th century. The alpine village is surrounded on all the sides by glaciers and snow-capped mountain peaks.
The Ushguli landscapes naturally exudes grandeur, as if painted by a skilled artist.
For almost six months a year, from November to April, Ushguli villagers are usually said to be isolated from the outside world because the snow makes the winding roads impassable, even by vehicles.

Tbilisi에서 협곡과 절벽을 지나 유럽의 고산 지역 중 하나이며 고대 정착지인 Ushguli까지 Marshtka Van을 타고 가려면 중간에 휴식시간 포함 대략 8~10시간(400km)이 걸리고
Mestia에서 48km 떨어진 Ushguli까지 가는데는 중간에서 휴식을 취하는 시간을 포함하여 2시간 30분 걸립니다.
Mestia에서 Ushguli 등 타지로 여행하려면 Mestia 버스 터미널 매표소에서 미리 하루나 이틀 전에 표를 구입하는 것은 필수입니다.
대부분의 망루들을 포함하여 건축물은 9~10세기로 거슬러 올라갑니다. 고산지대의 마을은 사방으로 빙하와 눈 덮인 산봉우리로 둘러싸여 있습니다. Ushguli 풍경은 마치 노련한 화가가 그린 것처럼 자연스럽게 웅장함을 자아낸다.
11월부터 4월까지 거의 1년에 6개월 동안 Ushguli 마을 주민들은 눈 때문에 차량으로도 구불구불한 도로를 주행할 수 없기 때문에 외부 세계와 격리된다고 합니다.
특히 이 마을은 모든 가구들이 정착지 방어를 위한 망루들(Kor)을 갖고 있습니다. Ushguli라는 마을명은 "두려움 없는 마음"을 의미하는 Georgia어 "Ushishariguli"에서 유래했다고 합니다.
Ushguli 마을은 독특한 문화-역사적 앙상블이며 유네스코 세계문화유산으로 분류되었습니다.
