This was a really peculiar battle in terms of determinijg the victor. No side made any apparent mistakes, it just seemed to naturally turn out this way. Perhaps it's a matter of a superior unit selection by the attackers? Tough to say

Peculiar indeed! I feel like the main gate battle ws the most decisive one, Galatia barely mde out of it even though Rome took many casualties they came out on top! Thats because its Romans! Athens and carthage were equal and the cav and archer play removed some depleted units! Galatia vs Rome was the true matchup that got the victory for the Rice Enjoyers!

The battle was decided at the gatehouse. Galatia got completely overrun by Romans. Athens need to have some more troops on that flank to support. Once Galatia was nearly wiped out, it was basically a 2v1 for Athens besides the Galatian general. Rome did take a lot of damage in that clash too, but they definitely came out of it much better off than Galatia.

The mistakes the defenders made was defending the gatehouse too long allowing us to get sword side shots on the Galatians and Athens held on to his ammo for to long

I once beat this guy who at least considered himself a pro, and I did it with Athens. I can't remember which faction he used, but it was quite an interesting battle I think, since I was totally wasted and thus was making bold moves.

hello i played rome in this game, we put the towers there to block the arrow tower so we could put archers behind the towers to fire over without constantly being shot.

As a new player here... Why didn't the defenders pick better factions if they only had to win? Is it because they used better factions before and couldn't use the again?

Yes. Throughout the tournament, you can only use a faction once.

You saw the end battle damage delt by Athens, the missile units Athens can bring to a battle are far beyond the barb factions. I knew all the favorable angles and used most of my missile units to their fullest which u can see in the end game results. I felt more comfortable playing a faction where i wouldnt have to just endure getting shot at by 6 elite archers as would have been the case if i took Boii. I wanted us to have ranged superiority and shoot them with high damage dealing missiles.

the shields litraly blocking arrows should def be a thing in future games, and arrows still go inside if they hit an opening, and if they do shey should hit a body, and if part of the body is armored it doesnt do as much damage. i think his is relatively easy to implement. can be easily done with a team of 5 to 12 people. or even less.

Well played by the four players (referring to the two videos) and above all congratulations to the winning team. However, for me the competition would be more fun and balanced, if in addition to the scoring system, the use of Rome, Carthage, Egypt, Seleucids and the two strongest factions of the barbarians were prohibited; since in this way the experience of the teams with less common factions would be put to the test and the surprises would be greater (in addition to the fact that it is tiring to see the same factions as always). I would like to see more Pontus vs Illyrians, Arevaci vs Bactria, Sparta vs Iceni, Odrysian vs Armenians, etc.

if you wish to see more weaker factions look to the earlier battles in the tournament both teams saved the strongest factions for the finals.

thesre are many battles on marketable skills and bubbinni and others that cover all the other battles with the lesser factions as u are only allowed to use a faction once only

i'm new to TWL but istg wont bigass artillery help (just 1) the defenders?, would literally scare off attackers who tries and use their numbers when it gets close to endgame. although i am new and don't know how costly it is since i've only been playing campaign but can anybody vouch to the idea or is it a bit stupido?
