Just picked up a 71 r50/5. Sweet ride. I am slowly rebuilding an 83 r100. In my 62 years BMW has always grabbed my eye for style. Riding position onto he r50/5 is super comfortable .

WOW!!! That museum!! What must it be like to live with those historic bikes, just took my breath away!! The R18 looked completely at home there, and with those 21" and 18" wheels it looks awesome. Tommy you are one lucky guy being part of BMW Motorrad history being made. Great episode again. Thank you.

I ride a '77 R100/7 (RS) I am restoring it and trying to find the metallic flat gold paint used in '77 if I can't find that I will be using Schwinn "Radiant Coppertone". I think this new R18 would look great in that!

One of the things that make a bike very special is its limited accessibility because of its limited edition. They say in this video the other paint colours will be available in the future so I am afraid they plan to build... if not milions.... then many thousands of R18

Tim Henning in 1982 I spent my Honeymoon in Rothenburg. We bought some small Christmas ornaments. A few we still have after 37 years of marriage.
@timhenning68544 жыл бұрын
Hello Peter, nice to hear from you! Rothenburg is always the place to be ;) You picked a good place back then! :) Maybe next time you come to Germany, you stop by if you have enough time. You can meet my good friend "Hermann the German". He does the same thing like you, only difference, he and his son David collect Ferguson tractors. I believe it is the biggest private collection in Germany and it is located in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It is up to You Peter ;)
@timhenning68544 жыл бұрын
p.s. and Peter, if you really manage to come to Rothenburg, i will certainly take you to the Käthe Wohlfahrt christmas store. So you can refill the ornaments that got broke over the years.

I've been enjoying these series of videos very much, as its been providing a different insight to bmw, and their development and release of the new R18. However this episode is quite awful. The museum is so poorly shown it defies description, for some reason the owners' explanation of things is cut short. The preference seems to be to show walking down the street as important, and talking to the daughter of the owner for several minutes. And to see her stumbling after some seaguls on the the shore. A fantastic display, beautiful bikes, and we do our best to show rubbish. But its not putting me off the bike, go 21 and 18 inch!
@db8max4 жыл бұрын
AMEN! My thoughts exactly. How about nothing but a few out takes of R18 at EICMA and shill-bro walking around for OVER 4 MINUTES at the opening out of a14 minute video. This is just BMW paying big $ for stealth R18 marketing and the museum is a prop.
