Sick of GGO vlogs? Absolutely not Steve. I'm in the UK and love to see you trudging through the Teton woods. I am becoming obsessive about that beautiful bird now. We have been lucky enough to visit the Tetons and Yellowstone twice, in 2017 and 2019. We travelled with a long mental list of wildlife and have seen it all EXCEPT the GGO. We so need to get back! Keep up the good work.

Beautiful creatures. Back in the 80s I lived in a small town of 5000. Everyday on my way to school I came by a private property. On that property there was a house and next to the house there was a tree. A spruce or pine tree only a few meters away from the street and the sidewalk. On that tree there were sitting 10 to 20 owls basically every day - I don't know for how long. Must have been years. Almost everyday I took a short break there and just watched those amazing creatures. That tree became well known as the home for owls. Long-eared owls if remember correctly. So beautiful. I've never seen anything like that again in my life. One day in the late 80s the tree was gone just like that. Never saw an owl again in and around town.

You REALLY did that owl justice!! You made him a portfolio to sell any where!! GREAT shots, all!! I enjoyed how you followed him there. My only problem was the bear. Were I there, we would have answered that age old question of who poops in the woods!! ME!! You caught so many wonderful views of the owl and illustrated so many facets of him it is amazing GREAT photography. Love every shot!! Thank you SO much for your work here. I love the ‘hunt’ for the owls almost as much as the images, it shows that you make your own luck through your knowledge and persistence. Curious though as you lose light and have to push your ISO up to 2800 on a couple of images, do you have to do any extra post processing work? They look so clean and sharp, great work as always. Keep up with the owls and taking us along on the hunt. Have a wonderful holiday with your family.

2800 iso isn’t high….I’ve shot clean images at 12800 iso with my Sony A1. Topaz DeNoise helps.

Looks like maybe one of your best “owl outings” of the year - for the subject, the perches and backgrounds and the light. I imagine you got a bunch of wall hangers from it and look forward to seeing them in your 2022 “best of” vlog. We’re on the left coast right now but can’t wait to get back to Calgary to hunt Snowies in the wheatlands east of the city and great grays in the foothills west of us. I loved your instagram shot posted recently of our foggy bull. I got some very similar silhouette shots I’m really pleased with. Thanks again.

I had one do that when I was on my belly photographing a cardinal flower with my 100mm macro. He was a little guy and far too fearless for his own good, came right up to see what I was doing and hung out for at least a half hour. It's not often I have to backup to get a bear in the frame.

I love watching your owl hunts. I'm a little jealous since the only owl photos I have were some I took on my phone a few years ago when an owl had perched itself in a tree right outside my office. I've tried going places that I know others have seen owls, but I never see them.
