A lovely fish 🩵 My Amanos stole all my sinking pellets and ran off with them 😂
@GlassBoxDiaries7 ай бұрын
Haha, yea thats a daily occurrence here with my guppies and betta fish. I had one Amano walk right up to one of my corydoras and take the pellet it was eating and there were a bunch with no fish eating them but I guess the one the cory was eating looked better or something 🤣

@@GlassBoxDiaries that's hilarious! I caught mine and put them in the community tank as the poor neocaradinas weren't getting a look in!

Which test kit you use and which test kit is important to purchase
@GlassBoxDiariesАй бұрын
I use the API Master Test Kit but I know NTLabs and a couple of other brands have their own versions that do similar stuff. Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate are all important so I would at least get something that checks for those.

When they glass surf excessively, is it possible they’re more cognizant than other fish and require decor changes more often for a change of scenery? Perhaps they feel too bored otherwise. I know you don’t typically do this because it can stress them out but are there exceptions?
@GlassBoxDiaries3 ай бұрын
There could be, he randomly stopped glass surfing after around 3 months in the tank though. It was as if he just realized it was his reflection one day and calmed down :)

is it okay to cycle the tank before putting gravel and the decor in?

Good point, I will try move the sponge filter behind one of the rocks to reduce water flow.
@TheFluffyNDN7 ай бұрын
BEAUTIFUL! Agreed, I think that sponge is going waaaay to much. Mine prefer very gentle flow, Good luck!
@heaven73607 ай бұрын
@@GlassBoxDiariesI use the same sponge filter you're using...I think. The one with the little area beneath the sponge with media?? Anyway....I use a little air flow control valve "gadget" on the tubing and I then the flow can be lowered if that's what you would like to do....if moving the sponge filter behind the rock doesn't work as well s you want. I never tried that before.

How are you getting to that? The vendor said it was male, I dont see an egg spot and it has larger, wider ventral fins than my female.

@@GlassBoxDiariesThey are a little similiar, females and males in Plakats but females are shaped differently from my experience. My female bettas are obviously different in shape than my males.
