Awe! You made a baby door. ❤️. 👶🏻! Looks great, works well. 🐥 We did exactly that same thing. Makes winter super easy. We used pine shavings for everything from deep padded nest box shelves to floor and removable roosting bar floor box. Throw a thin layer of shavings on each afternoon when you collect eggs. Then just pull the box/tray out and turn it over onto an outdoor compost pile when full. Gardening was never easier! Blessings!

Just love the way you two allow us to share and have a good laugh with you. All the scrap material in the world won't save money unless you know how to use it and you guys are miracle workers. Enjoy watching your ideas put into action with the usual good end results. Also, Maverick is such a natural ham; a delight to watch.

This was the same kind of latch we had on our back door when I was growing up. My Daddy built a slab door [we lived in a converted barn] and made this lock, we called it a button latch. It was just held on by a large nail, cause that's what we had! Love the videos!
@Kim-n-Brian6 жыл бұрын
Very very nice..... I like your idea for keeping your door open.....we have the same type of door in both of our coops but to make it easier on myself I wanted the coop doors to open before I get out to clean out the coops every morning and ti close after sun went down ...my chickens always go in early so I set their timer at 8 so no one gets stuck outside but my ducks get to stay out till 9 or so we have both our coops working on timers . We also made double doors so if we need it closed for any reason we can close the coop off from the outer door or we can leave the outer door open all the time and the inner door has the timer . It has been working great for the past 10 years.....love your clever ideas and love watching how your property is coming along everything is looking so great !

Hiccups, such fun. The best way to get them to stop: get a glass of water with a straw in it, plug your ears and hold your breath, start drinking, drink as much as you can. Wait a minute to see if they have stopped. If not, do it again.

I'm wondering with all these door idea's. most or all just close and stay shut by the weight of the door..but can a raccoon lift it?
@diyfferent4 жыл бұрын
It would be difficult for a raccoon to get a hold of the plywood and lift the weight. The bottom edge sits below the wood on the outside, which makes it even harder for them to get a good grip. For extra security, some type of latch could be installed just in case :)
@holymoly2714 жыл бұрын
Look for a video someone else did....where they attached a hinge at top of sliding door so that limited how high the board can go. Unless someone was to pull a string. Which a raccoon wouldn't do. So use this video with the hinge idea, that's what my plan is.
