When I use a double-wall tent, I'll take the stakes & insert them in my pole bag. This pole bag will go in my front (back?) mesh pocket. My tent body will go in its bag and be placed in my pack inside my trash compactor bag to keep it dry. My rain fly & ground sheet will go in another stuff sack that goes in my pack but above the trash compactor bag. Wet fly/ground sheet never interacts with my tent body or other items I wish to keep dry. If it is raining when I stop to set up camp, I'll first assemble my tent poles & lay them where I plan on putting my tent. I'll take out the ground sheet & rain fly. I'll put them down quickly with the fly on top of the ground sheet. I'll stake out the ground sheet, insert the tent poles, and then pitch the rain fly in a fastpitch fashion. Then, I'll bring my pack underneath the now dry confines of my tent & attach the tent body from the inside. Kind of a pain to do but it does work. Practice before you go in good weather to see how it works. A Big Agnes rep showed me this technique on my AT thru-hike a few years back. Genius with a 'J.' :)

I can tell this setup come from experience, definitely a great way to pack up and keep dry. I lost my ground sheet/footprint but maybe I'll get another one so I can set up better in the rain.

same, i take the tent poles out of the bag along with the stakes, you can also use a compression sack to make the tent smaller since the standard sacks are made to fit the poles along.

Stuff sack would be a sweet move for sure!

Aight now hear me out! Take ur tent out of its bag and stuff it into the bottom of your backpack. Same with your sleeping bag, take it out of its bag and together with your tent stuff it all the way down into your backpack, saves u even more space. It’s useful to have a backpack where u can reach into it not only from the top. And ofc if it’s rainy and you stuff your wet tent into your bag it’s not optimal, than I would carry the tent bag with me for backup

Hey that's not bad either, I've seen a few folks on trail prescribe to that method and it definitely has it's place. I haven't tried it myself yet, mainly because I use a compression sack & a trash bag for my sleeping bag, but I could see myself ditching the stuff sack for my tent. Future thing for me to try out for sure!
