I love Beverly. She has such a big personality. Can you imagine her and Ivan together? I bet the two of them would get into a lot of trouble. But there's never a dull moment with Beverly around. She puts a smile on your face and in your heart and definitely can make you laugh. Dixie's looking a little better, one day at a time. Love seeing Tex playing with his barrel. Beverly is such a considerate companion. Having that bale of hay in place to block the wind will be helpful for your equine friends. And their coats, of course. Lester you had mentioned that the horse and donkey only get coastal hay and water. The hay doesn’t provide much nutrition so you could give a small amount of a ration balancer, like Purina Enrich Plus that is low sugar low starch, to give them the vitamins they need. I have a cushings/IR pony and she gets a half cup twice a day no with no problems. It is a little treat for them.

Merry Christmas, Lester and Jami. I woke up to my furnace not working. Called 4 companies to come out, and no one called me back. I then called a 5th company, and they only do commercial work, but he lives right in town. He came over and got my furnace working, and when I tried to pay him, he said it's Christmas and no one should be cold on Christmas. I burst out crying!! It's 10° degrees here with the windchill in CT. And Santa 🎅 definitely brought me a present 🎁

The same thing happened to my momma when she bought a house w big property! She had no idea about the irrigation system where it all was ran underground on the property and no blue prints! So she called the previous owner before winter hit and that lady couldn't tell her but told her to call this company that worked on it and winterized it so that's what she had to do is call Rain bird to winterize all of it and that cost alot of money and the man did show her where all the lines were!

Lester - Long ago I used to think that running water did not freeze. One year we had a severe cold snap like you are preparing for. A small pipe on my porch cracked and the water, that was spraying out of it all night, made a huge beautiful frozen waterfall across my porch 😆. Maybe we need to add, "... in pipes." to that sentence.😊 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!🎄

Omg! Lester! This cold blast is crazy. We moved from Colorado to Georgia a little over a year ago. Colorado had a windchill of -50. In Georgia last night 🌙 it got down to 17 degrees with a windchill of 6 degrees.......thats absolutely crazy for us! We should be around 50 degrees at night and the mid to high 70s during the day. The homes in Georgia weren't built for this kind of cold, so it's might bit chili in the house too! Lol. We'll push through this.....I've been through way worse times in my lifetime. It will definitely make for a memorable Christmas this year across the north American continent. Don't work too hard! Y'all have a very blessed and merry Christmas!!!

Your Pawpaw had it right. He is letting some water run very low so it doesn’t freeze. Up here in the GREAT WHITE NORTH we often had to let water run very slowly when we had problems with our water lines freezing
