When we purchased our HD Tri-Glide Ultra Classic, we received a one year HOG membership. But the members of the chapter rode like bats out of hell, turning left on red lights, because they were impatient with the length of time it took to turn green! Plus at stops most of the members drank alcohol like fish, including their wives/girlfriends! Sorry not our scene, definitely not when riding. rsmf.

So where in India was your chapter?
@jagjr67724 ай бұрын
That would be a HOG Chapter problem and the owner of the dealership not the motor company HOG membership. There are two HOG membership options. You need to address that with dealership. Our dealership owner is very active and recognizes that the HOG Chapter represents her dealership and expects us to do that positively in our community.

My story is similar to yours. My wife and I put over 100,000 miles on a Yamaha V star. I put off buying a Harley mainly because of the snide remarks I got from a few Harley owners because I didn’t ride a Harley. We have friends that were part of the local HOG chapter and invited us on rides. Surprisingly to me, they were welcoming, even though we didn’t ride a Harley. We bought a new Road Glide last year, and I had no plans to join the HOG chapter, mainly because I don’t like riding in groups. All of our friends we rode with have quit either to health or age reasons, so we went on a few rides with the HOG chapter. These people ride as much, if not more, than I do. Because of the great people in the group, we ended up joining, and I don’t regret it. Each chapter is going to be different, and with any group of people you will have idiots. So far I haven’t found any here.

Lifetime H.O.G. Member here. Started out of Harley Davidson Sales Co. West Cleveland Chapter. We moved over to Rock N Roll and they recently kicked us out of the dealership. Good thing about my membership is back in 1986 they let me buy a Life Membership for $135. But I haven’t gotten anything from them in a couple of years. The good thing I got out of this is that the core members back in the early 90’s have managed to stay in touch, and we have Geezer events at least once a year.

Hey itchy, just had a suggestion about lawn tractors, with your uneven terrain, it's more about having one with a deck that is mounted where it will ride up over things ( like the rod mounted deck on a cub cadet), instead of one with a rigid mounted deck, which I had and broke the mounts on after it dug into the ground over rough terrain instead of riding over it,,,,,

Every HOG Chapter probably has different dynamics. You have to realize that the HOG Chapter operates under the umbrella of the dealership not the motor company. It is a different membership than the corporate HOG membership. The HOG Chapter is a representative in the community for that dealership so yes sorry you have to throw in so rules. We do a lot of great stuff including local charities in our city besides just ride.

Used to be get together pick a direction and see where you end up, then around 92 or 93 the rubs moved in and it turned into rides of no more than 75 miles and arguing about where to eat. Yeow Itchy, I think that the problem with Harley Davidson these days is that They only want to cater for The RUBS with the fat wallets and CVOS!! I found that some dealers over here in the UK back in the late eighties were very much like that back then, They would make a fuss of the Older Riders on Electra Glides, but would look down on Us Guys riding Sportsters and FXRs, But I noticed Harley changing back in September 2017 when my Son and I walked into a dealership and I asked for a Harley Davidson Brochure and was told that I would have to pay 5 bucks for one! I told them to shove it! 😂😂😂 Look forward to the videos Itchy long and short are all Cool with me Man! Great Content!! RHDF!!! 👍🤘😎🏴

MARK, I didn't take it that you were griping. I figure you had a thought about your own experience with H.O.G. and simply wanted to explain the pros & cons. There's lots of Riding Groups for all the different bike makes I'm sure, including Indian which you've heard about too. I have a bunch of biker friends (not affiliated with any MC's). Some of us go on a ride, 2 or 3., or sometymes more, AND they have an assortment of bikes. To us it matters not, just for the friendship & a great ride together. This past weekend no one else among my biker friends was available so I went to that Grand Opening at the new dealer by myself 40 plus miles North. Got to meet several other owners, listened to their stories of how & why they bought the bike they now have. Yes I got my share of fired up hotdogs & burgers. My 2014 bike suits me just fine so I'm not going into debt for a new machine now or anytyme soon either. Hey I'll keep tuning into your vids long or short. Just keep 'em rolling. thanx again.

Itch , I suffer chronic pain daily and recall you talking about your lower back pain . A young man in is 70"s put a patch on my worst shoulder which I'm scheduled to have both replaced. The name is Life Wave "Ice Wave " . Sir I never do advertise for anything but after I've had this one on for 3 days and the pain is still gone I thought I'd tell you about the patch. Said patch works from ones stem cells and UV rays. As always Sir thanks for your Prayers and We Pray for the ones that need Prayers and especially for those who think they don't need Prayers. PEACE

Bought a new 2022 Tri Glide and got a free membership and joined another club now Harley forced the dealership out of business after 60+ years so the club moved and it meets at another dealership about 70 miles away and meet at 9 am which sucks so I will dump my membership and you used to get a map book and I have not ever gotten there magazine.

Extra events for life members. Daytona and Sturgis used to have big free member breakfast. The dealership at least hours bends over backwards for us, we get 10% discount on everything except buying a motorcycle. They constantly contribute prizes to all our meetings. I could go on and on your attitude got in the way of realizing potential of the membership. Ride safe brother and keep the rubber on the ground.

But for more introvert people who like to do their own thing or to surround themselves with a relatively restricted group of people they don't really work well. Anyways, hope you are doing well, always enjoy your updates! 💪

What do you want them to do differently? As far as the HOG Chapter, well you’re riding under the umbrella of the dealership owner so sorry there has to be some rules. That HOG Chapter is an extension and a representative in the local community for the dealership.
