In this video you will see another simple Gibson Les Paul maintenance. In which I level the frets, slightly correct the unsuccessful paintjob of the headstock, replace the mechanics, the nut and make a general setup of the instrument.

@user26344
@user26344 11 ай бұрын
@@Paul-rt4ix after sanding them with high grit sandpaper, you polish them with polishing compound. It's a paste that you rub into a polishing pad and then rub the surface with the pad. It's best to use a power tool to speed up the process. A dremel with a polishing pad attachment is what Tanya is using in this video.

Nice work as always. I love graph tech nuts for L.P. style guitars. You and my wife share the Tanya name. She is actually "Tatyana", born in Siberia and moved to Yerevan Armenia as a teenager. Then to America and we met and married in 2007. She does industrial sewing, I repair and rebuild guitars/build acoustic after retiring as a carpenter. Отличная работа! Верхний порожек нужен костяной, у него другой тон. И прорези для струн должны быть ложбинкой так, чтобы струна лежалана на 1/3 своей окружности и не глушилась, как если бы она лежала глубоко в прорези.

There's no reason to tap the frets in with the dead blow hammer if they are not loose. The blow could actually loosen the fret. You do a few things without reason, and that's not necessary.

I can play the guitar, have for 20ish years. Self taught 100%, which means I am NOWHERE near as good as I should be. Lately I have found myself getting more enjoyment out of luthier work rather than playing. I just LOVE working on my guitars. Swapping electronics, pots, pups, wires etc. Stripping and refinishing. Removing old caps and adding flamed maple caps and staining...it is endlessly enjoyable. Playing has totally taken a back seat.
