Lovely work, Ste. Happy to see that you went back to these, and glad to have been of some inspiration! Thank you for linking out to my videos and the kind words. Love how much you’ve filled the bases with foliage, I might need to follow suit there.

Hope you don't mind the following suggestion. If using Lion Rampant, recommend using more of a 3-2-1 basing system for being able to pull casualties for Lion Rampant. Don't worry about what is already done, but instead do some more! As an example, with the 4 bases of 3 archers each, that's enough for turning into two archer units by keeping 2 bases of 3 archers each for each unit, and then doing up two bases (slightly smaller than the bases used for 3 figures) of 2 archers each, and also 2 bases (smallest bases for a single figure each) of 1 archer each for each of the units to have 12 total figures. Then turn the 2 bases of 3 men-at-arms into units of 6 figures each for elite or 12 figures for a heavy, maybe even one of each, or even better two units of either. Knights on horse could be turned into a full cav unit of 6 by basing 2 figures on one base with 1 on a single base (although having two units of 6 for these could be good). The crossbowmen could be turned into a full unit of 12 crossbowmen with two bases of 2 and two bases of 1. This kind of mix of units will probably provide everything you need to make any of the three English armies shown in the rules, Early English, Later English, and Wars of the Roses, plus give a full crossbow unit, too. This also prepares for expanding into some of the other army list options provided in the rules as well. Hope that makes sense and is helpful, cheers! 😎👍

Interesting ... had a reply show up under the bell in the upper left corner of the software about how a single figure or base could represent the whole unit, or even a half unit, which is true, although I didn't see the reply listed when returning to the video. It makes me wonder if those comments were deleted, yet I can still see them, or if even my comments are being seen, perhaps deleted for most, but less offensive by the software. There's a certain sense of dehumanizing if and when people are treated as just a thing. Hope On Point HQ enjoyed my comments intended in a community/relational building way. And by the way, I liked seeing your painted figures and the basing, wonderful, congrats!🙂🥂

This is brilliant, cheers Mark and it makes a lot of sense! With the current basing I was going to use tokens or a bit of housekeeping to track casualties but this is definitely something I'm going to look into. Plus I think the armies would look great on the tabletop like this. Thanks again! 😃👍

For expanding the army I'd mix in some metals, either those by the Perry's themselves, or another companies, like Forlorn Hope Games, as pretty much any War of the Roses range will fit in with the Hundred Year Wars stuff (ironically because both conflicts crossed over into each other's timeframe). As for gaming, well, there's obviously Lion Rampant, there's also SAGA and Never Mind The Bill Hooks, while Warlord Games Pike & Shotte does have a Tudor Wars era block in it's rulebook.
@OnPointHQ
@OnPointHQ Жыл бұрын
Thanks Darren, these are some great suggestions, much appreciated! I've bee looking at quite a few rules to see what I can use these for. Whether the basing will transfer across, I'm not sure but I'm looking forward starting out with Lion Rampant 😃👍
@darrenrichardson6146
@darrenrichardson6146 Жыл бұрын
@@OnPointHQ SAGA uses single figures like Lion Rampant, while Billhooks and Pike & Shotte uses Singles or Multi Based groups (or a mix of both) IIRC.
