The other guy was being a man-child too. It's obvious he wants to be the alpha and he can't take it when someone else annoys him slightly. He's also not a good person to have around, especially when things get tougher. He'd be the first to curse at everyone else but himself when things get dire.

Not even close Pedro. Paul was a typical site manager, shouting orders around, trying to elect himself as a leader, without carrying any weight of his own. He did fuck all about from boss other people about as soon as they got off the boat. Typical, loud mouth, fuckwhit site manager 😂

He could’ve manned up and stayed determined to help the guys out if he truly were the leader you’re making him out to be, but he isn’t. I built a shelter in the red woods with a group of strangers who were homeless drifters like myself. We lived in it during an intense 4 day rainstorm. We rebuilt a shelter as a group after day one improved it and moved locations and never were at each others throats even once, even found another guy in the woods and had him stay with us too.We all became like family in just a couple of days. I think the first people just made excuses why they left. If it was a real life or death situation, they would have been forced to stick it out and grow it to stronger men. It's truly 99% mental.

That's the issue with this show. Everyone knows the option to leave is always there. In a real survival situation that's not something anyone can just fall back on and of course that knowledge is in the back of everyone's minds when things start to get ugly. I think if they were not able to jump ship, the psychology of the whole endeavour would have been different. When you know you have no choice but to cooperate, you find a way.

I mean you can’t force anyone to stay unfortunately… my wife taught me that. And you would be better off with people who WANT TO BE THERE anyway. Have to disagree on Paul. He got threatened into leaving so easily. "I don't want to be responsible for Andy leaving" my ass. Grow a pair and stand your ground. Not to mention that he is loud, though that is a personal issue nothing more. Credit where credit is due. His pushy and loud character was helpful putting some haste into the group reaching the beach though, definitely did his part that day. I think Paul would have been great if he'd know when to shut up, swallow his pride, and not let other's remarks influence him so much. I agree that so far Andy is not worth anything. Will have to see the next episodes if changes or not. Edit: didn't even make the end of this episode, what a waste of time.

Was Andy 51 years old? Im 46 and that dude looks like hes 71 years old. Makes me feel like i have done well in my life. Im in much better shape. I want to do this! if i fail i fail but i so want to try this. Get away from social media. Get away from bills. Get away from dumb bs that we stress about. Have some real things to stress about. Food and water. Shelter. Thats real worry. We could all do some good going back to the basics for a little while and realize how lucky we are. They have the ocean right there full of food. id be trying to catch fish like some sea mammals do. They push the fish towards the shore by surrounding them. they have enough people they can do it. They had basic fishing gear i thought they said. Yet i havent seen anyone break any out yet. They need food bad. If they can gt some food they will start to feel better. Become more positive. This is good to watch. To see how men are tested. And how one day we may be tested. Im a fan pf the dad. Kinda, but no - the leader listens all the opinions presented, discusses the options with the team and then makes a final decision where the group's direction is going. Once it's decided, no more discussions on the matter - time of chat is over, action time! Only decision implementation related tips and criticisms are accepted. And if someone steps out of line you talk with them first, but if it continues to repeat - you get rid of them, as they're not only undermining your authority, but also decreasing efficiency and morale of an entire group. Especially in such a survival conditions - these are the grown-ass men on uninhabited island and not some drama queens at kindergarten for everyone to tip-toe around. ABC of organizational behavior (and common sense I would add - you don't need a degree to know all this).

I know this isn't in any way similar, but I feel the galvanization motive is deeply personal. I went through basic training in the US military. I went in older than most, and I liked my personal comforts. When I started to falter, the others seemed to write me off. So I bounced back and doubled down. I completed basic and was recognized by my peers as the best leader. I was told that the men thought that I was done for. My own drill sergeant thought I was a wash out. Being able to push through is a tremendous boost to morale no matter the circumstances.

I do feel like in a situation like this, you cannot waste a single ounce of energy trying to get people to stick around or get motivated to work. Either they're committed to the group's survival or they should be cut loose. You shouldn't have to convince anyone to stick around. It seems like half of their energy is spent dealing with drama. I'd rather work with 7 out of 14 highly motivated individuals only than deal with the emotional drain of the remaining ones. This should've been one of the first rules set after they introduced themselves. Guys like Paul, Andy, and the kid should've been left behind as soon as they introduced discontent. Fear and negativity spreads like a disease, and these guys are patients zero.

if there is a cocnut tree nearby .. im sure they can expand their food,..if the they run out of coconut fruit ..they can cut down small coconut trees and shave all the cocnut branches and remove all the branches till they can get to the very fetus of the coconute tree..... which very tasty and can provide them a very thick cocnut meat and juice inside the size of it is almost like a mini log in size...........it could supplement them with potassium and protein..... also they can make a net out of the coconut tree leaves branches if they can knit them properly and catch fish.. .....

24:13 we have scorpions in Oklahoma USA, except ours are a little lighter in color. My first time being stung... it was Saturday, a sleep in day. I was 16. I woke up at 7am thinking my sack was caught on a spring or something. I reached down expecting to be caught up.. nothing but a sharp burning sensation exactly like a bee sting. I rolled over & pushed my covers off me slowly. Then I felt a sting on my foot. I picked the blanket up & seen the scorpion.

Keeping Andy over the the other builder was a mistake. From day one Andy was put off that they were leaving him behind when they were cutting through the forest and that along with his personality has made him very resentful of the group from the start. You then take into account the other builders natural tendency to lead lead or take charge, and Andy's age.... It just seems like the other guy would have been a much better person to keep then Andy.

26:05 I dont want to be 'that' guy but he could've done a lot of helpful things whilst sitting/laying down. Things as untangling fishnets, just do stuff by the fire (keep the containers in check whilst they're boiling the water), making cords, one guy bringing trees and him cutting them to the point they could be used in future shelters, making woven roof out of palm leafs or baskets which could hold crabs. One of the guys just had to bring him something to do and he could've been productive

Well it was clear from the beginning that andy did not had it in him to do it. And he was ashamed of that so he said "Im leaving cause of paul". Now hes leaving anyway. But also Paul shouldnt have left. If he werent so lets say "emotionally numb" he could´ve maybe see through andys fassade. Well. Also someone could have told him. But nobody did. And that has a reason too. Very interesting haha

What we're actually pissed off about andy is not because he was leaving but he potentially kicked paul off in the first place with his attitude(regardless of what paul is words matter and what paul accused andy was he wanted paul to leave from get go which from the screen time andy is kind of person to say shit like that). Now collectively they're 2 man down because of one man's attitude. Paul might have been moody guy but was doing enough to show he was capable and has the mental capacity to work for the team.
