The king has struck again..... No doubt Richard is the king. I watched Bill Dance my whole life and have learned small bits about bass fishing. But i have watched your videos for a matter of months and I have learned more about fishing than I have from a lifetime of watching Bill Dance.
@ACuriousSquirrel Жыл бұрын
Bill Dance is a joke; he's a salesman first and somebody who just happens to fish, second. Also, he fishes private lakes and ponds that are stocked so as to look more competent than he really is. Bill Dance is a business suit with a southern draw, nothing more. I know this was a harsh comment but learning how much of a corporate salesman and fake fisherman he is really turned my opinion of him belly up.
@squarebill Жыл бұрын
@@ACuriousSquirrel you are 100% correct I remember he would go to these private small lake/ponds to film a show that if you or I or Elmo could go to we'd catch em good to . He's for sure in the sales business first. But I tell ya I'd buy whatever Richard Gene were to be selling right lol. There's been several Boat mfg. tryimg to get Richard to fish their boat and he said he's not gonna do it. He's a good honest man God fearing man at that. He's deserving of any and all good things that comes his way.

Can it get more fun than watching Richard fishing in one of his videos? Do you not feel like you're in the boat or standing on the bank next to him? This is a man that has figured out how to enjoy life. Take note.
@brianlykins6663 Жыл бұрын
Good evening Richard. It's amazing to me, that a person can have the biggest, fastest, best rigged out boat that can be had. Sonar, radar, depth finder, front scan, side scan, up scan, down scan, charts, graphs, GPS, and I don't know what else can be put on a rig. And yet the best fishing can still be done with a cane pole, or extendable poles, line, bobber, hook and a bucket of minnows or box of worms. No better way to introduce kids and new fishermen and women to the sport. It is just as important as catching fish, to do exactly what you said, enjoy God's great gift of the outdoors. And at the end of the day, thank him for both and giving us the day to enjoy both. God bless ya'll, Richard. And thank you for taking us along with you and sharing your knowledge with us. Stay safe out there brother.

Appreciate that tip man. They are going deeper and I'm off the bank myself. I use bobber stoppers for some of my bass rigs two peg weight. But with micro guides you can't reel that thing in there. That knot will work famously

Little extra tip on the setup. If you take some time, add enough weight so that the bobber just barely floats, using the smallest shot size. If you can just barely see your boober, there will be almost 0 resistance at the hook, which will help both seeing light bites, and almost reducing the chance of the fish spitting the bait. I find it helps a bit.

Hey Richard, Thank you for all of your great fishing videos! I love to catch crappie and bluegill and try to pay attention to what you say to help catch more fish. I just have a simple older Jon boat and some fishing poles. I am retired and on a fixed income, so I can't afford all those electronics to see where the fish are hiding, I just go to a place on the lake that looks fishy. Can you offer a video where no electronics are used on a lake and what to look for to catch more crappie and bluegill? Thank you again for your videos and hope your days are blessed with fishing, family and good friends!

Awesome video.. Question,,,,how do you keep the palomar knot from catching on the tip of the rod when you cast it out when fishing deeper and the knot is wound into the rod a few feet?
@johnleonard532310 ай бұрын
The line connection knot is a double uni knot trimmed close, about 1/8 of an inch. He normally uses a trident knot for the hook.

You were saying you didnt understand why that crappie stopped swimming when that bass was following it. My guess is like when they tell you not to run when a bear or lian is looking at you , mayby through years of encounters the crappie have figured out not to provoke a strike from bigger fish bye moving. I catch most of my pike up hear when I move them just a little seems to provoke strikes. Just a thought , love your channel !!
