Flopping Crappie

Күн бұрын

This simple trick will help you catch more crappie when fishing with a slip bobber and live minnow. Crappie can be tough to make bite, but live minnows is a go-to for most crappie fisherman. Adjusting the weight above your hook will help trigger more bites and put more crappie in the fryer.

Great video man! Also appreciate the links. I want that fryer!! I noticed the bobber you use is the spring variety of slip bobber. I usually use the kind you thread the line through the center. Is there a reason you prefer the spring kind?
@FloppingCrappie
@FloppingCrappie 2 жыл бұрын
That bobber also has a hollowed out middle so you can run the line through the center as well. I just like being able to un-clip the bobber when storing the rods in the locker

If you pan on using the slip style for this bobber you will need a slip stop. This bobber also has a fixed position which will hold in place on the line.

Do you have the microwave guides on your crappie stix? If so, what affect does the rubber bobber stop have on them for slip bobbers. I’m about to rig up my new rods tonight and want to know if I should use the tie on ones?
@FloppingCrappie
@FloppingCrappie 2 жыл бұрын
I don't have the micro guides on my 8ft rod, which is what I use for slip bobber fishing. I find the micro guides will catch the slip-stop when casting.

Hey man I have a question. I bought some of these bobbers and they don't lay on their side like normal bobbers do. Like if a fish hit it and came up in the water column I wouldn't know because it just stands strait up and down constantly even as soon as I cast before the bobber stop hits it its still standing up.
@FloppingCrappie
@FloppingCrappie 2 жыл бұрын
Did you purchase the weighted style bobber? This company makes a number of bobber styles. The weighted bobber has a lead ring above the bobber spring which results in it standing straight up and down. The Bobbi used in the video (atleast in my experience) don't stand straight up until the bobber drop reaches the spring.

How do you find crappie where there is no structure in the lake for them to hold on? My home lake is devoid of hard man made cover. Might have to do some tree branch dumping haha.
@FloppingCrappie

I would look for deeper weed edges this time of year (mid-summer). Crappie with suspend on the edges of these weeds waiting to ambush bait fish.

@@FloppingCrappie I think I've done some of that had some success with a point. Im trying to scout my lake for crappie for when I take my mom fishing (she loves crappie). My electronics are cheap I can see some fish usually larger. Mainly I use it to find weed edges and for depth. Only thing it seems to be good for. If I had that 93sv I would be in heaven lol.

@@FloppingCrappie Thank you for the reply! I have been thinking hard about getting the force, as I have recently changed the boat electronics from all humminbird to garmin and added a livescope. Why couldn’t you use the rubber bobber stop and a slip weight rather than pinching a slip shot for any or all types of “bites”? This easily adjusted and won’t effect the line. Great show enjoy your time and tips.
