You two are stinkin' adorable. My first thought when she gave you that book: "Um... is she trying to tell him something and he's just OBLIVIOUS!" ;) Then: "I've got a bun in the oven." Me: "Johan - HELLO!" May God bless you both in your marriage! :)

I think adding your wife to your videos is amazing. She's not only charming, but she adds a great juxtaposition to your love of fantasy novels. You and I have similar tastes in books, but I got a copy of Nutshell and loved it as well. I'm now wondering what I've been missing out on by sticking to the fantasy genre. I think it would be cool to see her in future videos with recommendations from her side of the book sphere!

You guys are the best. Ohhhh I would love to see the Globe someday. My wife has an MFA in creative writing and there is no way I would take this challenge. You are a brave man!

Definitely worth a read. It is also relatively short!

I had never heard of I'm Glad My Mom Died, I listened to the audio and the Jennette McCurdy read it. While definitely outside my normal reading zone I was super impressed.

Respect to your wife from a fellow English Literature master's degree holder! 😁 I wrote a dissertation on the revenge novel for my undergraduate degree and one of the novels I talked about using with my dissertation supervisor was Nutshell! He burst out laughing when I described the plot. 😂 I didn't end up using it. I also asked about using Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie, but my supervisor was concerned I would have to use valuable words explaining the setting, which was good advice. I highly recommend checking out The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas if you ever want to read an older book, as it's very readable even today and is the foundation for revenge novels as we know them today. If anyone here enjoyed Best Served Cold, you'll probably have a good time with the Count! 😁 Also, it was so lovely to see you with your wife in this video, you're such a fun couple! I hope that making this video has helped teach you the value of dipping into different types of literature, as it looks like this gave you a much-needed break from fantasy (as awesome as the genre is). I'd be happy to see more non-fantasy/sci-fi/speculative fiction content from you if you ever find a reason to try making more! 😄

I loved the Count. Despite being so long and old, I was hooked start to finish. So I'll treat your reply upside down and will get to Best Served Cold by Abercrombie :-)
@andrew_8582Ай бұрын
@@boardgamejulia Please do! I think there's a strong chance you'll enjoy Best Served Cold. It's more streamlined and modern than Count of Monte Cristo, as you would expect, and the characterisation is phenomenal. Happy reading! :)

That sounds like a fantastic challenge! I should definitely try it out with my wife too. Just wondering, is this the Forbidden Planet in London? I’m based in Birmingham and found a few interesting signed books in our local FP, but wow, it seems like there are massive shelves full of signed books down there!

FYI, many people have "regressed" into their past awareness in the womb, and experienced being aware of the parents and events around them from very early in the pregnancy. The Secret Life of the Unborn Child book is a good start.
