A Book Observed: C.S. Lewis's The Horse and His Boy (Dr. Joe Rigney)

My take on this book was that it is meant to correspond to the period of Jewish exile, Daniel, Esther, etc.) This lines up nicely with a) the theme of providence you talked about, and b) it puts the Calormenes in the role of Babylon, which is why they play such a huge role in the Last Battle.
