Wonderful book review! I watched the Homeworthy video tour of their home which was incredible. Thank you for looking at the porcelain in Harrods (and the prices Yikes!) I’ve been to both Harrods and Fortnum and Mason and personally prefer the later. Over the years, F&M has, according to my British friends taken over. You’ll have to take another trip and make a similar video so your thousands of followers can opine. There’s something about “Just Looking” that is so fun, thank you for allowing us on your trip.

I bought this book when it was first published and have loved it ever since. In fact, when I first bought it, I only allowed myself to read one chapter a night, so the pleasure of delightful discovery could last as long as possible. i have gone back to it time and again even though I have owned it only a short time. Michael and Quinn have created a true treasure!
@thetartantopiary9 ай бұрын
That is funny you do that. I have done the same thing, with both coffee table books and novels. Yes, this book is a treasure.

Excellent trivia with regards to Beatrix Potter - Peter Rabbit and how Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh [ a boy and his teddy bear] came to light. It has delighted millions of little boys and not so little boys over the years. It is very tender and nurturing as well as your appropriate introduction to each book about each designer and their life's biography. It is so convivial and exciting. I love all the videos from "The Tartan Topiary". I hope one day in the future to have my dream home a center hall American colonial here in my home state of New Jersey and very similar gardens to yours so that my mom who is 80 and an avid gardener and planter can enjoy for many years to come with good health. Happy Labor Day 2024.

I was shocked that they did not sell Herend China, but I did manage to find an Hermes throw blanket that I have been wanting for a while. That store is a consumers paradise. London really does have it all.

Don’t you just love these two? I stumbled on this book several months ago and have enjoyed it so much. Thank you for sharing it with your wide audience. And Harrods! I loved seeing it, and hearing all your historical tidbits - they make it even more interesting. The child in me never outgrew Pooh or Peter Rabbit! (So I studied your jewelry. Is the pink bracelet from London?!)
@thetartantopiary9 ай бұрын
Very good- Yes, the design on my bracelet is a copy of the ironwork on the door of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor. This scrolled design was introduced by Henry III in 1247. I think it was my favorite purchase while in London.

I kept racking my brain on how I heard of these gentleman,I had seen them on Home worthy,excited to know about the book! You did a review on Spencer Churchill’s book last year also because I bought it ♥️ I can’t imagine living in a city that had a Harrods even though I can’t afford a lot (most) of the things,I so appreciate just seeing them , Did the Azaleas bloom early this spring,a friend was down there and said they were past peak,everything here is early this year but lasting longer because we have had some cooler weather for the last 10 days but next week the heat returns. Thanks Mary 🌿🍃
@thetartantopiary9 ай бұрын
The azaleas did seem to peak a little early this year. We did have a few still in bloom for the festival. I think the heat came back today. I wore shorts for the first time and the ceiling fans are all running. Thanks for watching!
