I am so appreciative of stumbling across one of your videos, the shower curtain cabinet with ocean scenery.... I am getting back into crafting after years of single motherhood and grandchildren that needed my care.... Having just bought a 110 yr old home with furniture left behind, I have been so inspired by your method, your in depth project videos, and God bless Martin for being the videographer!!! I keep the thought, ' dopamine and design ' in my head everyday since I saw that episode..... Thank you so much for being you and sharing you with the world!

I've just spent an hour painting an old lampshade exactly like that! I'm going to stamp it with IOD birds.... but now I'm going to add viridis gold leaves as well! Thank you Lel. Inspiring as ever😄😄.

I forgot to comment on how much I love this lamp shade! Such a cool idea! That lamp is absolutely fabulous. I can see how a plain lamp bottom could also benefit from some moulds and painting. So fun.

That is so beautiful, never thought about adding moulds to lamp shades, you have blown my noggin once again. Yes, my hair is thinning as well, breaks off so easily around my face, thats when i slap that do-rag on my head to keep it all in place. I picked up my meds today and who in the heck takes 9 meds a day to keep going. I guess 3% of the population has to. Live and create, and create to live!!

Gorgeous project! Fantastic tutorial! What table did you stage it on…is that an upcoming video? I have never done a lampshade, but if I ever do, will definitely paint the inside gold like that. Also love the finishing trimming material. 🌿💚🌿💚🌿💚🌿💚🌿💚

It's on 2 different surfaces on the thumbnail it's on a decoupaged cuboard I did on our channel quite a while ago it's in our bedroom.... And now so is the lamp it's really fits in the room. In the stable it's on a stenciled drinks bar the one with the tassel handles I also did ambefore Christmas. Glad you like it.... Painting the inside of the shade gold gives a beautiful light x

I have trouble eyeballing the amount of clay to put in the mould. I always put in too much.
@MadebyMarley10 ай бұрын
If you put in to much then just get a scraper and scrape the excess if the top x x
@ellenl562610 ай бұрын
Love all your videos and this one is no exception, fabulous! I'm wondering if the clay would make the shade very heavy so it might not hold up over time?
@MadebyMarley10 ай бұрын
Hi Ellen, my shade isn't really very heavy.. Rember clay gets lighter as it dries out. I've done this a few times and I don't think the shades are heavy.... Just in case it's putting you of doing it ❤️❤️❤️
