This fine lady is going to be as fit as a butchers dog (or should that be a fishmonger's cat) after all that pot pulling .I do hope you are treating her property ( top nosh foot rubs etc ) all jokes aside it's great to see you both working together like a well oiled machine 🎣👍

Troj, do people pick the crab meat from the crabs and sell it where you are (in addition to selling whole, live crabs)? Here on the Chesapeake Bay (Virginia, USA), the blue crabs are much smaller, but we catch a lot, pick them, and sell the meat in one pound containers for crab cakes, dip, soup, etc. Every crab you catch is bigger than the biggest one here and I am jealous!

There is at least one commercial place here that picks and sells crab meat then sells to the public and restaurants. Most regular people won't cook pick and sell as they would need a licence to sell and all the health and safety checks/documents for cooking crab and picking it.

Got it! There definitely are health rules that must be followed here, but they must not be too onerous (perhaps because it has been done for 100+ years and the system has kind of evolved over time). Picked crab meat is available around the Chesapeake Bay, but the number of people willing to pick it commercially has declined greatly in recent years. I pick and freeze about 10 pounds year for our use during the winter and it's a tedious process! @@Trojwaterman

Quite new to the channel and i guess you have been asked this many times, what sort of boat do you use? Cheers.
@Trojwaterman Жыл бұрын
At the moment I have a 16ft Orkney fastliner. On the older videos I have a 16ft Plymouth Pilot which is in the garden at the moment.
