Welcome back to my channel, plant lovers! Today I've got a special treat for you: I'm unboxing a Rescue Box of rare tropical plants from the Rare Plant Shop in collaboration with the Plant Rescuer. I'll be showing you the ins and outs of these beautiful, yet struggling exotic plants that are in desperate need of some TLC.
In this video, you'll get a first-hand look at the beautiful plants that have been rescued, including the Philodendron atabapoense and the Anthurium forgetii. Even though they have less than ideal roots and some cosmetic leaf damage, I am excited to take on the challenge of rehabilitating these rare finds.
By popular demand, I will also be sharing my rehab process for these plants. With the right care and attention, I believe these plants will flourish once again, and I'm thrilled to share this journey with you.
Remember to subscribe to the channel, like this video, and share it with your fellow plant lovers. Every bit of support helps me to share my passion for rare and exotic plants with a wider audience.

The best bit about the rescue boxes from the Rare Plant Shop, aside from low cost, is the fact that you are getting a lot of plants to work with for your money. Even the forgettii had a lot of chonk to work with. Hopefully they will do some more rescue boxes, because I will definitely be trying to get one ☺

We have a special place in our house by the exit under the mailboxes, where all the neighbors put things that they no longer need but are too good for the bin. Normaly books or children's toys, usually someone will pick them up and if they stand there longer than a week, they will be thrown away. I put my banana plant there the other day. Everything was OK with the banana, it was big and healthy but somehow I didn't like it and needed space for another plant that I would rather have. I've never seen anyone put a plant under the mailbox and to my delight it was gone the very next day. I plan to put there a few other rooting experiments of mine. I don't bin any plants because of cosmetic damage, but sometimes you just lose interest in certain plants and somebody else is happy to have them.

Hey Faina, that is so cool, i think Belgium or Luxemburg does something similar, I vaguely remember a conversation with a friend years back, that this is a thing. It is so cool!!! I know exactly what you mean, sometimes you can just fall out of love with a plant, but there is usually someone there who will love it. 😊💚🌿

I love the idea of this as someone who loves rescuing and rehabbing plants! In Australia quite a few shops have things called an 'Ugly discount' where plants that are ex mothers, struggling, damaged ect and I ADORE getting those plants! It's the best way to get rare plants on the cheap and when they do well they take off like a frog in a sock. If they don't do well you haven't wasted a fortune.

Hey meikahidenori 👋👋👋 aww that is so cool, even better that you can get mother plants, those are so difficult to come by and if you can keep them happy, usually you can get really mature leaves quite quickly. Goooooo Australia 👏👏👏👏😊💚🌿

What a great idea to sell rescue packs. Where I live we can get sad plant boxes. I don't know if that is the same idea. I am quite sure that the first one is a philodendron atabapoense because I have one and mine looks identical to yours. Please let us know how they are doing later on.

There is a shop in the States called Orange lake nursery that has a rehab bundle box. 3 rehab plants for $8.99 and they now also have an "exotics" rehab box 2 rare plants in need of love for $29.99 I ordered 1 of each box and it should arrive tomorrow. I kinda like the excitement of not knowing what I'm getting. I can't wait.

This was a very good offer. It´s great that things like this exist. Sadly from my personal experience in the Czech Republic, very often the plant not looking great is due to pest damage (thrips, spidermites), often with additional bonus of alive pests in the pot too :-( 80 % of the times I buy full-price plant here, it has some alive pest present too. When they are on discount, it tends to have 95 % probability of pests. So I can´t even imagine that there would be a plant rescuer box without pests, or the plant simply not looking great for any other reason - that would be so wonderful 🙂

I’ve had pests from Czech shops, too. One shop in particular. If you’re near Prague, you could come to our plant event (FACEPLNT) on June 24 at CafeDu. :)

@@tanya.quintieri I'm in Prague, sending greetings 😊 I several times bought plants in 4 most well known p Prague plant shops and got thrips and spidermites with the plants from all of them repeatedly. Because of that I lost trust in buying plants from plant shops. I'll check the event 😊
