I was so surprised! Fan games are normally a bit hit and miss, but this feels very professional! Could easily be like an official game with a bit of polishing on the translations and some voice acting!

That would be fantastic! I’d love to see Lucasfilm take it on or make something very similar! I liked Return, but I’d really like them to go more this style if they make another one!

Honestly, the biggest problem would probably be getting the rights. Studios will typically tolerate fan made projects like this only so long as no one’s making money off of it.

This looks incredible. Unfortunately Return to Monkey Island ended on such a freaking shit ending for me that I don't think I'll be able to play another game in the series for a very very long time.

It's definitely a nice fan game with some querks but also a lot of fun stuff for fans and a ton of references even to Sea of Thieves. Which, by the way, also has a nice Monkey Island Questline, if you want to look into that one. It's much better when played with a crew though.

Yeah it really feels like a Monkey Island game! I keep meaning to check out some videos of that one. I’m not a fan of Sea of Thieves gameplay-wise so I couldn’t bring myself to actually play it!

This looks amazing, but like a lot of euro-made games adopting american adventure games, the writing is all over the place. Real shame, but at least there's no voice acting.

I think the writing is very good! Some translation issues here and there but that’s not the end of the world given it’s not their first language!

Return to Monkey Island was such a woke disappointment. Woman pirates everywhere. Creators engaged in politics, left X and supported Harris... such a shame, just like Mark Hamill they try to destroy a wonderful adventure and memories with they political agendas. This game look better than "Return".

I enjoyed Return! It had its issues, but also a lot of good moments! There’s always been woman pirates in Monkey Island since the very start and there’s nothing wrong with that! 😂 Meh, I don’t really care for the political views the creators have, it doesn’t have a bearing on whether I enjoy a game or not! If they want to support a certain political candidate, that’s their business. True, I certainly prefer this art style to Escape, Tales and Return! It certainly feels more “Monkey Island” to me than those games did!

@@TurianShepard I would agree if creator`s political views weren`t part of their creation. Especially in Monkey Island. Sure there were women pirates in MI but don`t tell me You don`t see extreme change in the balance. Come on, every boss is a woman now, male characters are dumb, lazy or clumsy, woke, woke, woke. MI wasn`t about agendas, it was about pirates! And it was great. Why would I need politics or DEI in my pirate adventure?! :) And one of the creepiest things - Spoiler! - was when Guybrush destroyed that tree in the woods and animals were devastated - what kind of a satanic vision was that? Pointless, not funny, just creepy and our of proportions. And I played MI many times for over 30 years, I see the difference in narration. I smiled like a child when I heard that theme and started playing in "Return"... and then I realized that someone is shoving "opinions" and "diversity" into my adventure. This is why Hollywood and gaming suffers now. And this fan made game looks better, I can`t wait to play, maybe it won`t focus on girl bosses.
