Brett sold me one of these at PRS Experience in June. It is an AMAZING guitar. Beautiful, comfortable, easy to play, fantastic sustain, rock solid wraparound bridge. I've played rosewood and maple fingerboards but never a ziricote before. Smooth as silk. Somebody buy this one before he decides to keep it! Only 50 sold in the US and 50 internationally. The 2019 models will have the TCI pickups but not the ziricote fingerboard.

This is very good discussion and demonstration. I been wanting to know about the TCI pickups since I recently heard about them. Its very smart to set expectations about the tone may be different and yet very desirable. Doing this way it moves it in a positive direction of how to think about how it comes across. You said the weight is 7.2 lb will vary however it will stay within a fairly narrow range. Also TCI single coil actually have a meaningful tone to them. This guitar is shaping up to become my choice. How will the 2020 ones change? Also the sound can be moved around with amps settings and pedals to change it up even more. Thanks!

Wow those are some sweet pickups if you wanted to put those pickups in another prs guitar is that something that would be possible or are they a different size than the normal humbucker pickups

Slightly smaller than humbuckers. Best I can measure - the pickups themselves are approx 32mm X 72mm. They are sweet!

The one shown in the video is a limited edition that was released at the 2018 PRS Experience. It has a Ziricote fretboard, while the 2019 production model features Rosewood. You can't just 'add 1500 winds to a coil' out of nowhere. Likely what he's done is instead of winding 10k turns 50/50, he did it 60/40 so his hb is louder than the standard hb with the same specs that's split 50/50 Theres no way he could just 'add 1500 winds' around the coil unless he has another, smaller, 3rd coil built into that hb that only go into effect when you split the main 2 coils. Even then, now you've got 2 singles in series. 🤷‍♂️

It’s probably just an additional resistor that adds the same resistance as 1500 winds would.
