Great video. I interpreted some things a little differently though. The one I'll mention is Ultima's motivation. I feel like he wanted to create a new realm, without humans, akashic or not.

Yeah. His plan was to cast a spell to remake the world so the remaining 16 or so of his race could once more live in a world without blight. Barnabas believed that Ultima would bring his chosen few into this paradise as a reward for their faithful service, but this was a lie.

so you in the camp "Clive died" because the red star ??? i believe it's open ended game and that Clive is a live here is my explanation : 1.Clive is the only person know how the story ended by logic in the game so either he and jill has a son name joshua and told him the story and he who wrote the book and the two children are his, or Clive wrote the book himself under the name Joshua... 2. why the writers choose the last scene in the game "Jill crying when she see the red star stopped glowing then sunrise and the tears stop and she smile" is the same as the line of Jill side quest "no matter how dark the night dawn will always come and that you will come for me CLIVE" 3.the game theme "Jill and Clive get separated multiple time in the game and then return to each other" 4.why make Clive confess and promise to Jill that he will be back if the writers decided to kill the main character in the end why make Jill suffer ??? 5. why choose Clive as the narrator in the start and in the end ??? 6. i think this is the most important clue why the writers choose the name CLIVE for the main character ?

Because he is really dead. Only delulus made up that he is alive. 1.) As Clive, we go to our resident historians at Hideaway, Harpocrates and Vivian, and it is shown in old FF style pixel arts that Clive shares his stories and knowlegde to them. In game, they both act as back-tracking progress but in context they are historians. They even keep tomes of our adventures starting year 870... and guess what year the story started. 2.) The Metia star, in ATL text, is the message-bearer of wishes to the moon and heavens. It is a wishing star. SO it being gone/fading meant it can no longer grant wishes. This is why Jill cried, because her wish of safe return for Clive won't come true. 3.) Back again to red star Metia, it is true that the star "granted" Jill's wish, according to her, in the scene where they sleep together at Lady Hanna's barn earlier in the story. Jill mentioned that the star granted her wish, returned Clive to her and the heaven's must have a plan for them. In that scene, Metia is shining and beside the moon like always. Now in the ending... surprise, surprise, it's gone. Its shine faded. Meaning it no longer works - Jill understood this that's why she cried. 4.) Jill's side quest is meant to be depressing/sad because as the Player, we know too much of Clive's death flag already at that point. His promises won't come true. Even in final battle, his promise to protect Joshua didn't come true. See what they did there? All his promises are broken. 5.) Clive loves to read stories as a child. He always read books of legends by Moss the Chronicler. And it is a common way in japanese anime and media, often time even if they are the narrator - the narrator still dead - FFX Tidus anyone? He's the narrator but still died lol 6.) What's with the name Clive? It meant like a slope or something lol Additional, if you listen carefully to the song lyrics of the music that plays (the english not the Japanese), and Soken's use of lyrics, FFXIV, etc. The last two lines of the music: "And when I cannot bear the pain, I look up to the sky and pray, And though our night is over you shall always remain, forever, my treasure, my star." Guess what Jill called Clive at her side quest? "You are my treasure".

@@aileene-ez9gx Well, if it's not ambiguous then why the director of the game said in a interview that the ending do not give all the answers so they could show more.Of course , I think there is a higher chance that he is dead but the arguments given by the "other camp" are really convincing( I'm thinking about the comparaison made by Jill about the dawn, the side story with Harpocrate, and the reaction of relief in the eyes of Jill at the end ). So I guess we will have an definitive answer someday. Btw I'm sorry if I made english mistakes .

Oh I would like to add that yes for me the end is ambiguous because it's the only character in the game with a death that is not clearly shown ( it cut before he is turning totally to stone) leaving that someone ( Leviathan maybe ) could save him and bring him back to Jill .

@@guerriererma3 that sun isn't a dawn. The sun was lost after fighting Bahamut (Dion), that part of the game people thinks it's the end of the world. So Jill seeing the sun back again is confirmation that at least Clive succeeded in his mission to save the world from the Blight. She smiled knowing and accepting that. Also, Clive told her how much her smile brings him joy. That's the least she can do. The side quests are only empty promises and supposed to be tragic, if Clive keeps his promises, why did he fail to protect Joshua like what he Always promise? See what they did there? And it's crazy to think he survived after absorbing the Ultima and using all his magick powers to destroy the origin crystal. This isn't Naruto where he revive with power of friendship and promises... But yes we can only hope for a DLC

But , it's stay a fantasy game, Tidus coming back in FF10-2 was not predictable with the ending of FF10 but it happened so I think it's kind of open ( and I think it's probable that he may come back due to the interview that I have evoque in my comment ).

Nice break down, I’ll catch the 5 hour. Was it ever mentioned where the beach Clive died on was? The night sky there looks vastly different than it does throughout the game.

explanation ultima motivation is off. aether draws out life causing the blight, the icons use so much that they cause blight so ultima and the other decided to run away to a new world and start over. to go to the new world ultima needed aether to cast the spell and a vessel to cast it. methos is the vessel and the mother crystal formed by the 8 icons [shiva in north already fell as well as garuda"s in southern ash, location of leviathan"s crystal and dominant is unkown hence name leviathan the lost, you destroy the other 5]. ulitima was just a coward who didnt want to die or give up magic the thing that was killing the planet. note the icons found valestia after their world fell due to blight they didnt create it, after their aether use caused blight in valestia they desided to start over again

I think your analysis of Ultimas plan is little incorrect. Ultima didnt create the world. He's is just one of a race of godlike beings who call the world their home. They, at one point, created/discovered magick. This had the unintended consequence of causing a blight which slowly consumed the world. Ultima and what few of his race remained fled to Valisthea, one of the last places untouched by the blight. Knowing it was only a matter of time before this place was also consumed, the beings enacted a plan whereby they cast away their physical forms to become crystals capable of drawing enough aether to cast a spell. They also created humanity and granted them the power of the dominants to protect the crystals while they gathered the required aether. They must share a collective consciousness though, because they all seem to be ultima (and merge into one), depsite him stating that his kind became the 16 mother crystals.

think they destroyed their original world with blight and decided to move to another world again but this time their vessel mythos became as strong as them. at end he called him logos which mean the word of god. the word it what yehowa used to create the world and every thing in it in 7 days according to Judeo-Christian religions. mythos mean a second hand account i.e not the true word
