Nice review of the shavette Justin. 😌👍 The Focus is a great choice for a first shavette, not so much the other one, whether someone is a straight razor shaver or a DE shaver. What I would say is that even straight razor shavers should not expect great results with a shavette straight away, they are different. Comfortable close shaves are very achievable with a shavette but you have to master that light touch and getting the razor to glide first (you can’t push a shavette like you can with a straight) and that all takes time to achieve.

Haven't tried ab shavette. I jumped from DEv to straight razors. Good to hear your opinion.

The SaskShaver I did pretty much the same, I tried a shavette early on with bad results, hence I found it easier to use real straights then move to shavettes!

Nice video on shavettes. When I was looking into using a straight I was given the advice to use a shavette. You are right it was a terrible idea but I got pretty good at it. I would definitely recommend d someone pick up a straight from a reputable source and havr it honed. Who do you use to hone if you mind?
@JMac.

Appreciate it Joshua! It can be a steep learning curve for sure! Glad you stuck with it though. For honing my guys are Randy at First Canadian, and Magic Mike(who learned from Randy) phenomenal edges.

Thank very much for your comment. Please to meet you. Excuse me if I didn't understand you are blind. In the video I didn't notice. I must see the video again because you have some skill! yes is possible to do that because I'm expert . But starting blind to use this shavette!!!" Really is very dangerous. I admire your skill!

Zen Razor hey brother! Yeah it’s all good! I’m not totally blind, I still have some eyesight but it isn’t great... luckily I knew how to use these things before I started loosing my sight so it’s a lot of muscle memory coming into play. Thanks for the support eh!

@@JMac. I would like to share with you my passion for the shaving. You seems a good and human person. If you see in you tube there are a lot of resellers ans people doing pubblicity but they are not prepared and almost of all they will not tell you the true because they must sell or publicize their products. My suggestion is speakind with people independent like us to discover the true.

Zen Razor thanks man! I always try to be honest and unbiased and I don’t try to sell products, I just give my opinions of them and if people want to try them for themselves, then great. I stay in the hobby and making videos because I enjoy it and have a passion for it, and I love to interact with likeminded people.

Just few questions- 1- Have you controlled( pushing with the nail) if the blade is fixed after you close the mecanism of the blade? If you take the razor just for the handle and open the razor the other part of the handle will remain in position or it will move? The handle of the razor when closed is well fixed. The opening of the razor for removing the blade is fast and easy? These are the crucial defectes of all shavetteS Also the ones I have. So please give me your answers Thanks Greetings I have the sensation like if all shavettes are garbage more or less and Dovo inox shavette is the less evil but some people don't see defects or should I say are layers because are resellers and must tell you the lies for selling. I have seen photos on Amazon of fingers cutted! terribly for the horrible system of opening and closing of Parker Sr1 and similars! Boker pro barberette has is worst with blade moving because you can't fix . Interesting noone has never made reviews about these defects you can discover on Amazon and buying these garbage like I have done!!!

Marco C hey Marco! So this one can be a bit tricky to load or open to insert and remove the blade, but once you have it down the blade is totally secure. I put the half DE blade in with the little tabs at the side of the blade that stick up a bit facing away from me, so towards the inside of the shavette when loading the blade. Then I close the mechanism and it slides closed easily. Sometimes the blade does move and you have to open it and try again, but notably it works first shot. For opening it, it is under tension so I use a towel for a bit of grip to help slide it open, I’m legally blind and can’t see well at all, but I can still load and remove the blades without cutting my fingers. I wouid still recommend this shavette as it’s the best built one I’ve come across and I quite enjoy it. Hope this helps!

@@JMac. Thanks very much! Really apreciated your answer was enough precise. I saved 70,00€( price on their site) and almosto of all I savede my face from dangerous cut!. If I can disobey myself by giving you some information on some product or information of various kinds, please tell me. I understand that despite the serious defects you feel comfortable with it but the fact that the blade sometimes (you have to check with your finger as I did with a razor I returned) moves is an unacceptable defect unless you want to risk being scarred. shavette scars are not beautiful to see I assure you!

Marco C you’re most welcome! And yeah, I’ve never had to check or adjust the blade in the Focus with my finger, even if it doesn’t load perfect the first time you can just open and use the side of the blade to align it on the line again, no need to put your fingers in the edge. As I’ve mentioned I’m legally blind and I’ve never come close to cutting a finger loading this shavette.
