You are correct, in that I obviously misread my notes at that point. "Eighteenth century" should have been "eighth century," which would have been about 1,300 years ago, making our estimates very close. I guess I need to learn how to add an annotation to correct that. Thanks for the catch!

@@ThePpyrosa yeah has connection with india but not with the indians! even what mean the indeans? just watch there is 100+ ethnic in india!! even the there is huge difference between north indians and south indians but gypsies has indo-iranian and indo-aryan roots and possible some greeks too (because before the greek kingdom had a land in india! but it is ancient times) becAUSE the language has greek words too!

These are Hungarian instruments and Hungarian music, not Gypsy or Roma, after WW1 many Hungarian musicians had to go fight, whilst the Gypsies replaced them while they were of defending the Kingdom, this is well documented, after the war Hungarians had to work and rebuild so the gypsies became the main recruitment for music in the villages and cities, for weddings and events.

Cinka pana Janos Bihari was in the 1600 hundreds .. it’s not Hungarian instruments lol 😂 cimbalom Violin Roma people been playing it since more than 4000 years in a row .. the music yes it’s Hungarian origin but Roma people put this music on a higher level .. just like any type of music that they touch they make it sound batter than the original because they have that extra in them when it comes to music they are born musicians dancers entertainers they been doing this much longer than before they arrived in Europe …

@@ferencfarkas2729 Sanskrit Pronunciation [ˈsɐ̃skr̩tɐm] Region South Asia (ancient and medieval), parts of Southeast Asia (medieval) Era c. 1500 - 600 BCE (Vedic Sanskrit); 700 BCE - 1350 CE (Classical Sanskrit) where are your sources coming from as 4000 years is a long time and to claim what you wrote above yes some of it is true but many Historians have different versions of Language, origin and also instruments, as I wrote in my original comment, that the Gypsy music in Hungary the musiic is Hungarian just that the Gypsies became popularised after WW1 as Hungarians had to rebuild the Nation whilst the Gysies filled the vacant positions of the original musicians.
