Honestly I think the one thing I like about the Ron vs Carl fights is the fact that it very neatly portrays that, at the end of the day, they're still kids and they're fighting like kids. Idk if I'm reading too much into it, but I always endured the cringyness of it by arguing in that direction.

One thing that annoyed me with Morgan's whole thing with the Wolves' Leader was that he basically said that it if he had killed Owen back in the forest, then Owen wouldn't have been able to save Denise. Like, I understand that they wanted to show an example of Morgan's point of people can change and that's why all life is precious. But that was a terrible example because Denise was in danger because of Owen. Also if Owen was killed way back then, then he wouldn't have found Aaron's pack, lead an attack on Alexandria that resulted in the walls breaking and walkers getting in.

They didn't conected Morgan with Carl because in season 6, Gimple plan was to kill Morgan as a mentor for Rick to let Negan live. Morgan is not only the pacifist of the series, he literally made the cell where Negan was held for years. I don't know why, but eventually Gimple decided to kill off Carl to be a mentor, and sent Morgan to Fear. Ruining everything that was planned and set up during season 6

I was waiting for it and I watch the show w/ my dad so when Sam got grabbed and bitten into my dad wasn’t surprised b/c we both predicted during the break that Sam was gonna die but when Jessie got taken down. I was sad but I was like well that’s how it goes in the comic. My dad was completely shocked tho b/c he thought Jessie would live for a few more episodes. I’m super glad you mentioned at the end the issue with no way out being split between 2 episodes that are 2 months apart. With it being on Netflix it isn’t that much of an issue, but when it was released I was more than a little annoyed I’d have to wait 2 months to figure out what happened. This isn’t like in the finale of season 4 where it felt like a proper cliffhanger. S6A’s wasn’t. Side note, it also creates an imbalance between the Alexandrian plot line and the early Negan plot line. They could have easily had episodes 8 and 9 be one episode, making a clear distinction between 6A and B. This also would have freed up an episode in 6B. Meaning we could have had 701 as the season 6 finale.

I do believe Chandler about the secret edit, but it's worth noting things he's said on Reddit have been confusing before. He said that he believed Andy could've made it through all of Season 9 if they didn't kill Carl, when Andy himself has said it had been planned since Season 4 and he was supposed to leave at the end of Season 8 (either being taken by the helicopter from against the tree, or dying there), but ended up staying 5 more episodes.

Morgan started off one of the most interesting and complex characters and he's an absolutely frustrating joke of a character now, so fucking inconsistent when it comes to his philosophy on killing and not killing, and instead of every other character who has found their moral and philosophical footing, though it may evolve and change, they generally have a set of values that they live by, Morgan flip flops every seasons and is fixated on killing no one or killing everyone instead of just being logical. Whereas Rick for example would know the right time to kill and the right time to show mercy, Morgan acts like he's brainwashed, either from Eastman's teachings of Aikido or the trauma of his wife and sons deaths. But instead of actually delving into his deep psychological issues and mental health, it just comes off so forced and contrived, especially when he can switch between the two extremes so flippantly. He is a very 2 dimensional character because of this, one season you know he's going to let everyone, even the most dangerous person, walk free, even if it means it will come back to bite him or someone else in the ass, or he murderers an innocent person in cold blood because he has to "clear". There's no balance or consistency in his character, infact the only constant is that he's consistently inconsistent, and that doesn't make for an interesting or sympathetic character. You can say that Morgan is so messed up mentally because of his traumatic experiences, and maybe he's bipolar which is why he's fixed on one way of thinking at a time, but seeing how the writers never really vocalise this on the shows themselves, he just comes across as being crazy for the sake of being crazy, to have an unhinged and unstable character juxtaposing those on TWD that are usually self assured in their convictions. This is a long winded way of saying that Morgan is boring as fuck and he's become a cash cow for TWD franchise because he was in the very first episode, and I feel bad for Lennie James having to put up with the tripe that the FTWD writers come up with. Morgan was annoying and overrated on TWD but in FTWD fucking hell he is like a schizophrenic superhero!
@squidlytv2 жыл бұрын
Morgan is a character who at his core is struggling with PTSD. He is struggling to find his purpose and place in the world. His Arc throughout Seasons 6 to 8 is about how life isn't as simple as four words. He was using Akido to direct him and give him purpose. However when that ideology was faced with the reality of the world he broke. His character isn't one based off logic as the world in which he lives in and his experiences have been anti logic. The execution of this idea is definitely a problem and the Fear writers have no fucking clue who Morgan is. He isn't a pacifist. He is a broken man who was relying on pacifism to keep himself sane. I think a rewrite for the character would be to make him take the house that Carol lived at. Him isolating himself to meditate and find inner peace but at the cost of being apart of a society. The biggest problem with Morgan was when the writers are trying to make him a beacon of altruism instead of a victim of trauma who desperately is trying to grasp on to something, anything to fight for to believe in. In comparison to Rick he has no one, Rick has a son and by extension a group family while Morgan lost his son. He had no reason to fight and had only himself to tend to. In reality the Fear crossovers really haven't helped Dwight and Morgan. I used to like Morgan and I still like Dwight even on Fear. But the transition and in reality the lost of Scott Gimple being Morgan's primary writer has done a disservice to one of the more interesting 3 dimensional characters, and that's not to say Gimple did a perfect job with him. He is now just a 1 note whatever the showrunners want him to be character. Which is a damn tragedy.
@bishbosh48152 жыл бұрын
@@squidlytv yes I agree, there is so much depth to his character but they just don't communicate it well. I'm talking about the way he comes across not the way he actually is, but he is a fictional character that is written that way

And here we are... Personally, being a fan since the beginning of the series, I left this series at the end of the next season (Honestly, I didn't return for season 8) With the series ending, a doubt has arisen to see how everything ended, even knowing key elements of the plot for being active on twitter. So waiting for the next videos xD As a fact, I left the series more than anything because the "formula" tired me... Not so much the formula of the season and cliffhangers with hiatus. But to the formula of the episodes that became a meme. The comics, if I remember correctly. I left it at the beginning or middle of Whispers... I don't remember why, I think it was lack of time.
@LuckIsImpossible2 жыл бұрын
Yeah Season 7 was a pretty weak season, and then season 8 is by far easily the worst of the entire show, however in season 9 the show got a new showrunner who really cared about the story and Season 9 is easily one of the best seasons of the show, up there with seasons 1 and 4, season 10 is pretty good, with a lot of stellar episodes and I have yet to watch season 11 but i've heard its good
@JMTgpro2 жыл бұрын
@@LuckIsImpossible My problem with the series was that it already felt stagnant. I didn't go back to season eight because I was busy at the time. And there were other series that felt better at the time (GoT or Outlander). I went through the same thing I went through with Supernatural. I saw the series as endless. That was what kept me away. Although also with Supernatural, seeing that it was ending, I continued it and finished it, and that's why I'm curious about TWD. All in all, I'm curious and maybe I will see it. although I repeat, I know almost all the big twists that happened (Carl and Rick). I have always said it. This series needed more focus on its scripts and moving away from that formula, that's what made it fall.

Season 5 did have parts of it with Rick telling him in the church not to trust anyone and Rick handing him the tool to kill the final walker outside Alexandria. But Carl’s little play dates with Enid didn’t help. For the Ron plot we really should have gotten those great Carl lines in the comic (the one about “my dad’s a killer, but so am I”) and a more darker Carl. Although some stuff was missing from the comic like him killing Shane and Ben (I think it was Ben) it didn’t mean there were ways to still make him dark.

I think if all the stupid crap from season 6 was left out and some elements from the comics during the matched time was added, it could've been A VERY good season and not the mess it turned out to be IMHO. The same goes for the show. I'm going to write a script for a video soon touching on this subject. Like a review.
