Usually it’s always someone else making the bad guys today like “I lost them” or “they made me this way” whereas Ozai IS the one causing others to be tragedies like Azula and Zuko. Both antagonists where Zuko grew to overcome his father while Azula was consumed by her father. 2 different outcomes for what happens to the people Ozai affects. And he’s not boring at all. He’s straight menacing, has a clear purpose, he believes in what he is doing, he rally’s his troops, he’s intelligent, manipulative things missing from villains nowadays

You’re basing this nearly completely off hindsight. Be open minded and think about this… Would YOU have suspected that there would have been a detective hunting you that keeps his name concealed using a death row inmate stand in broadcasting a fake world wide message specifically to the area you live in? Were you honestly screaming at the TV “don’t do it Light it’s a trap!” the first time you saw the show? The premise is nearly insane anyway. A guy that kill anyone just by writing down their name vs a guy with no known name. But you had that figured out in episode 2…. Also Light kills L. So it’s a moot point he technically wins.
