I think they've given him enough development that I'd actually be okay with him being Zsasz OR Jason. Could do some really cool stuff with either! That said, I don't think he will be any existing character revealed

Brooklyn and the Bronx are two boroughs filled with working class and poor people. They both share having to cross a bridge to enter Manhattan, which is why they took half the name of a Brooklyn neighborhood, Crown Heights and half of the Bronx neighborhood Hunts Point to create, Crown Point.

I’m so sick of the “WhErEs BaTmaN” comments everyone makes about this show. I’m glad that the show is standing on its own in this universe, while not throwing cheap callbacks and Easter eggs at the audience every 30 seconds, like every other marvel show does.

You can’t say having “the Batman” show up if even for a split second at the series finale it would be good and make sense lol, yeah I get it make the show about everyone else BUT him, but after the finale, like idk last 5 mins left of the episode it wouldn’t hurt tk have 1-2 maybe full secconds on screen time just confirming Batman’s doing something or just tk tease

@ it’s unnecessary, we know Batman is in the world, and honestly atp a full on Batman cameo would just come off cheap to me. This story is standing on its own

@@Sigmundfruedwhilst I agree, it would also make plenty sense, Oz is using the trolley system which could easily connect to the disused station Bruce is using as the bat cave, can’t imagine he’d be too thrilled to find out about that, also with a full scale gang war on the horizon between the major Gotham crime families, it’s definitely significant enough for him to get involved

I appreciated the contrast in classes & social strata by using alcoholic beverages of choice in the scenes of cooking & drinking wine versus the cracking open of beers that Oswald does at the meeting,

I think oz’s brothers drowned. When oz and vic first go down to the underground trolley line he stops by a metal plate that says Gotham city water and pauses by it and he tears up a bit.

A writer of the show said we're not gonna like penguin after episode 8. He could go the Keyser söze route and off his mom because not only did she ask for it, but Sofia is actively looking for people he loves to get to him. The escort left him, and his mom is not gonna make it, all that's left is vic, which in one way or another isn't gonna be with him in the end

Airport notice that they kept making us look at Victor's shoes? They were "Air Jordan 7 Cardinals", and they were white, query red and yellow and black in then.. "Cardinal" and those colors can hint to "Robin"

That is what I instantly thought when his mother said in one of her episodes of dementia, "I'll go get Rex." They had a relationship of some sort. Those of us watching caught that.

I'm guessing that he lets his mother die and kills vic out of anger at something he says when emotions are running high. Penguin is defined by his unavoidable tendency to push everyone away who he cares for, and if you're trying to make us hate him, there's your reason. That being said, considering this series started as the intro to The Batman 2, I'm also fancying Vic as the centerpoint for the movie. Imagine that third kill doesn't come by the end of this series, and before he has the chance, batman steps in and asks him to be a rat. Now he has to make a choice, eventually adopting the name of the Robin to pay homage and remind him of the one who taught him to stand on his own and follow his own way.

From what I understand they changed a lot of the characters, made Sofia aka the Hangman far more sympathetic. Etc. But as someone that isn't a comic book fan, I don't care because it's done so well. If they make the kid robin I will stop watching. It's so cool to see the good, insecure kid become a gangster who does what he has to, to survive. I fully expect the Penguin to sell him out at one point. But not yet, maybe in season 4 or something. But for now I just want their relationship to become stronger and for him to become part of the underworld. I really hope we never get to see batman in the show. I don't care about batman or whatever bro. I just want a gangster story lol

Why are people across the internet working so hard and twisting themselves into knots trying to link these The Penguin's characters to other members of the Batman Rogues Gallery? Do they really find the world Matt Reeves and co have built so uninteresting that they can't enjoy it without there being a callback to other media?
