We prefer English than automatically assuming that we speak Russian . Although older people will know Russian more cause of Soviet union. And we're grumpy cause the political situation is pretty bad right now .
@RevoeLad7 ай бұрын
@@bobsayshello7112 that’s good to know because I know English people feel bad just going round speaking English all the time. But I imagine Georgian is a difficult language to learn? But when you try and speak the native language you can see how people appreciate it.
@bobsayshello71127 ай бұрын
@@RevoeLad yes. We don't really expect a foreigner to talk to us in Georgian perfectly but a simple hello ( gamarjoba ) will mean a lot . Georgian maybe be hard because of our constants but if you speak Arabic/Hebrew it will be easier ; Younger people speak English but older people will know Russian more than English.also it's good to speak to tourists cause we get to actually practice our English skills; If not use google translate ; you can get free wifi in metro and streets in Tbilisi. But people will look grumpy but most of them are not ; once again things haven't been good politically.
