I love that your films are better at presenting products than the manufacturer's materials.

I really like this platform "rack". I spotted this accessory several years ago when it was demonstrated by it's creator. I went directly to my local hardware store to get the parts! I have been enjoying it very much. I would highly recommend this to anyone with the means to own one. The rack makes the unfolded Brompton into a comfortable chair, you park near to but not touching a wall, sit on the rack and lean your back against the wall. Thank you for your channel, I look forward to every video you create! ( That case of ammo likely would have weighed more than the Brompton :)

@ikearat5205, At about 23kg (50 lbs), a full ammo box is indeed about twice the weight of the bike!

Your videos are super high quality! I look forward to watching them. I still think Brompton needs to start including braze-on cage mounts on the top tube!

They could make a limited edition/special color scheme out of this feature. The B Line? (B for Braze-on)

@2Bikes4Adventure Seriously! Then you could easily add a bottle cage, a lock mount (such as the Abus Bordo) or even this platform

Thank you - might be a useful platform for an ebike battery.

Thanks for another beautifully produced video. The platform is strangely similar to the one produced by the brilliant Vincent of Eerder Metaal in the Netherlands who has been making them in metal for some years... 🤔

Indeed, the Eerder-Xplorer made of aluminum. We will try to find one (sold-out now)

@@2Bikes4Adventure I think he makes them in small batches - I have had one for a while and find it perfect for carrying a tent! Once you get used to it you suddenly find a hundred uses and can’t imagine how you managed without it!

Think I saw (online, in the pre-Covid era) basically the same product albeit with a different name (which I can't remember) from Spain. It was quite popular with the devotees in the Brompton aficionado group I was part of...

This is cool. Started to order, thought “don’t really need it”, came back to the video because it would not leave my mind and options for use - besides to carry items, even a small platform for lunch to sit on while resting during a ride - kept going through my head. So, returned to their website and ordered one. Thanks for the review.

@@user-jk2zm7uq5s You're thinking of the 'Stand Up For Brompton'. I live in London and when I tried to order a 'Stand Up For Brompton' from the Spanish maker, they refused my order, saying that they don't ship to the UK, despite my offering to pay all costs! I wasn't impressed...

Same as “Stand Up For Brompton”, made in Barcelona. Been out for several years.

Well, if it is for a bike made in the UK, shouldn’t that spot be used to carry a mini brolly? I would put a super comfortable carrying handle in that space. I think it provides for a better balance point than the saddle and would make it easier to carry up stairs when bike is folded up or open. Other option would be a battery or a bento box type container for a retractable cable lock for quick stops.

Would a vincita big Nash rack bag fit on it when the bike is folded? Considering this to attach the bag when grocery shopping since the rear rack is rolling on the ground
@2Bikes4Adventure Жыл бұрын
In “cart mode”, a Big Nash installed on a Platform B would likely interfere with the lowered seat as well as the front bag carrier block.
@b.griffin317 Жыл бұрын
Can you mount the Vincita Nash bag with UniKlip to this rack?
@2Bikes4Adventure Жыл бұрын
@Athenasraven, the Nash UniKlip can attach to a rack up to 16cm wide and 16mm thick. The Platform B is within those limitations, being only 10 cm wide and 12mm thick. However, the Nash bag being twice as wide (21 cm) as the platform, it would be very awkward to cycle with it while avoiding hitting it with your knees. Could be manageable over a short distance, but might quickly become uncomfortable.
@b.griffin317 Жыл бұрын
@@2Bikes4Adventure Good to know. I was thinking of attaching the Nash to this when "carting" the Brompton while having the front bag attached in "shopping cart mode" thus continuing to allow the Brompton do all the lifting when bike touring.

It does seem expensive for what it is. I would have expected all metal construction for this price.
