"The working man is the tough guy, your fathers the tough guy" Robert De Niro speaks for millions of fathers with that one sentence. Great scene.

I think Chazz actualy said that the line ""The working man is the tough guy" was what his father used to say. i mean IRL
@laa7489 ай бұрын
This story is true. Chazz is actually cologero. Robert DeNiro is playing Chazzs dad. Excellent story. Watch the documentary on the making. That will blow you mind apart. The producers just wanted to buy out Chazz for this real life story and keep him out of the movie but he negotiated. There was a great chance we'd never be able to see the movie the Bronx tale if it weren't for Chazz

We are tough. But we are suckers too man. Let's face it. Working for a living while corporate pricks make decisions about whether we keep our livelihoods or not. We are all just numbers. Human resources man. That's what most of us are. But working for a living despite the bullshit way of the world takes guts. It's easy to give up and be a welfare or disability bum, or become a petty crook. Working your ass off for 50 + years is tough. But at least you can come home every day after work with a bit of pride.

The one thing I realized about this movie was that Deniro got upset at Sonny because he felt Sonny made C grow up quick, but in reality if Sonny didn't have under his wing, C would had been killed a long time ago because of his so called friends trying to bomb the black's territory. His so called friends wanted to be wannabees and Sonny knew that and saved C from that life.

De Niro has been making low quality,big paycheck films to pay for his many businesses around the globe not because he's lost his talent. That talent and vigor is still there whenever he's provided with quality scripts and filmmakers like Scorsese, Russell etc As for Newman, I haven't seen him(or any actor for that matter) play a character so deep,so disturbed and complex as Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver. And De Niro's performance was one of the most accurate examples of acting perfection ever.
