If I was the axis player opposite you, I would realise my enemy was amassed in woods and use artillery and carpet/fire bombing overlapped with massed infantry assault ideally mounted in Sdkfz 251's. This would be followed up with another artillery barrage behind (creeping barrage in other words) so that infantry could advance. Individual fast FW-190 bombers to take out strong units within forest. Having gained control of the forest, AT guns would be brought up, not tanks. Edit: Yes, smoke if I didn't have 251's or decent long range infantry. Of course recon is essential.

That sounds like a decent strategy. I don't think we had terribly heavy AA so He-111s or JU-88s could have done a lot of damage. Thanks for watching!

The PE-2 83 carrying FAB 250's - FAB stands for Fugasnaya Aviatsionnaya Bomba, and you have to pronounce it during a game at least once. I will be watching. And listening...lol! Seriously though, in the game, I've noticed the FAB bombs seem to be particularly effective against armoured targets, unlike regular HE bombs, even though the FAB is an HE bomb itself. Is it just me?

you really need halftracks if you want to use a fast infantry attack.

If I remember correctly, this deck only has them for tankos. I will say, I do enjoy bringing my infantry in halftracks - I love 5 point machine guns with armor. Thanks for watching!
