You know me, I'm never one to glamorize the NYC lifestyle. This week was rough for me as I'm feeling I'm going through a bit of burnout on all levels. As always we have a bunch of fun though, it's not all depressing :) But in this video I dig deeper into me trying to make my situation better living in new york city. If you're going through something similar my heart goes out to you! Sending good vibes your way. Thank you for watching!!

If it ever happens again, I highly recommend a warm compress. Heat a clean wash cloth with hot water and make sure it’s not too hot before pressing against the eye. Do this every two hours until you notice pain subside. Usually for one day. By next day it’s gone. It works so well.

I miss quarantine too. Life was slower- we cooked and went for walks outside. Also as an introvert people couldn’t invite me to social events. Honestly it was the best I felt in my whole life and I was the healthiest both physically and mentally.

@@semaph0re um no. People are allowed to enjoy what they want. I also enjoyed quarantine and am not remotely ashamed to say so. I feel many of us found you randomly in these past few weeks. I hope your channel grows so much that you can get sponsors and youtube monies! I center myself with yoga and solving jigsaw puzzles. However, nothing kills the zombie in me except for quitting my job and trying self-employment. But the latter brings many new fears that eventually come true. Or not. I don't think this world is going right for us, the little people. Maybe if we keep connecting some day we will be able to point our fingers at it and change it. Until then, baby steps and little joys - like videos from stranger to stranger :) happy to have found you

As a fellow member of the “my job is taking every speck of my energy” club, you are 100% right that community is ESSENTIAL. Having a group of people (in-person, online, both) that GETS you and loves you and not inky let’s you be authentic but WANTS you to be authentic and honest and real is so important. Also, that pasta dish at the end your video looks amazing! Take as much time as you need for yourself, we’ll all be here with open arms when you get back ❤️❤️❤️

Randomly clicked on one of your videos today and somehow just found myself almost two hours later still watching. I'm not moving to NYC or anything like that, but love the true, genuine, real life that comes through in each of your videos. So honest and "normal" that I can relate on so many levels. Life is hard and beautiful and full of ups and downs. Its refreshing to see that so many of us go through the same experiences and struggles and that we're not alone at all 💪

Watching this I couldn't help but chuckle about myself. I used to think the anxiety, exhaustion and disconnect I've felt about everything when I grew up was so unique and therefore mirroring some greek tragedy. When you're in that mindset, that everything somehow is meant to be hard and terrible for you and somehow maybe predestined to never turn good and happy, it can suddenly become frightenedly tempting to let go and unconsciously fulfill that premise for yourself. It's always something to be grateful about when strangers admit that they're struggling too sometimes. It makes that fight feel a little bit less solitary and a lot more communal. So please tend to yourself and take your time. Because that's what we're doing all the time too without having a camera pointed at us. We'll huddle together when you come back.

I’ve been watching your channel for a bit now. I find it so fascinating to see how other people exist in cities that are the polar opposite of my tiny little country town in KY. And yet, we have similar thoughts and view points on our lives. It’s strange to look at something, like the initial shut down of quarantine, and miss it, but also know that so many experienced such tremendous heart break in COVID. My family experienced tremendous loss. But, we also grew closer as an extended family unit. Excited to continue following your journey.

I love this video and thank you so much for your honest and authentic videos. Also I find it really calming to see another woman in her thirtees living alone in her apartment. With this lifestyle struggles come but also great opportunities. Now I am working parttime, focusing on my hobbies and communitywork. Sometimes its challenging, because I have to live frugal. But the time I have left for me ist just so precious. It was a very long way to live my life like I do these days.

Hi Chelsea! Thank you so much for your bravery and willingness to put your life out there. As a NYC native now living on the West Coast, the struggle is real. Spent several decades - pre pandemic, doing the NYC professional workforce grind (i.e. subway commute, long hours in the office, enduring all 4 seasons - especially harsh winters and brutal summers.) Took me a while to get myself stabilized on the West Coast. However, my time working/living in NYC prepared me for the initial ups/downs of moving to a new City. Best wishes on achieving a state of Zen amidst the chaos of NYC Life. As a new subscriber, I look forward to your future KZbin videos while going back to catch-up on what I missed. Hi Chelsey! Your video and this algorithm made its way across the world to South Korea where you're helping a 27 year old (me, duh) feel a little less lost in my own feelings. I too love my home and city - despite being so far from family, and I sometimes think that if we weren't asking ourselves these questions that make us question our existence or make us overwhelmed, we'd never grow. I center myself with music and walking my dog, seeing his joy in simply being outside and having me with him, helps ground me. I found these insane colouring books by Kerby Rosanes that my brain relax, too. Hope your next week goes better - you're doing great, living the life you've always wanted to build. I can't wait to see it grow.

Crikey! Ok first off your Trader Joe’s haul was the best, just throwing shit up there! 👏🏼 Another great vlog that I feel connected to so thank you! I remember during quarantine I loved the silence, the slow down, not hearing traffic just peace and I didn’t want it to all go back to chaos. I work an exhausting corporate job that I love but it’s still hard some days. Going for walks and taking yoga classes are what gets me through and even tho I’m around people in my yoga class I just don’t talk but it helps to not be isolated. And sometimes I just cry doing yoga because life is a lot. ❤

As always, I love your videos. I really appreciate how honest you are in your daily struggles and in the little daily joys. I am so happy you have found the place you feel at home (at least for now) and that your love for the city still is greater than the sh!tty things! I had a really rough couple of days (okay, honestly more like a rough few weeks/months/years, but whatever, these last few were especially bad) and I just blurted out, alone, to myself, out loud, while I started to cry: 'I just want to go home!'. But the things is, I was home! I just really don't feel at home here (or safe, I think that is the bigger issue), at all.. and I don't know how to find home.. and whether it is a physical place, or that it's just me... 🙃 Man, I really thought I would have figured that part out by now..! Anyway, thank you for sharing. I think it's totally understandable that you need a break. Especially after running the marathon. That was such a big goal to work towards, that takes a lot of (mental) energy as well. A little after-reaching-goal-slump is totally to be expected. So take your rest, KZbin is supposed to be fun right? (I don't know, I am too scared to be putting myself on here😂) ❤

Especially in my 20's and 30's but as I grew older I knew it was time to go. I always think of moving back (always) but I watch videos and I see my city, I don't know the direction it's going, sad. After "accidentally" watching someone's travel vlogs (you know how YT do), and seeing their amazing travels, your video was recommended and I realized I needed a refreshing and grounded dose of reality! Seeing someone else's "boring" NYC life was a welcome change and actually made me appreciate my mundanity a bit. (although your TJ's haul was more interesting than mine - it's usually vegetables, chicken and frozen shumai) And for the record, if you're going to commit to a good ol' box of Kraft M&C, there's no point in ruining it with vegetables - just eat a big salad the next day. 😋 But I enjoyed this video and just subbed, so looking forward to more! (and good luck with the mental break!)

I haven't seen this specific video yet but have seen other videos of yours Chelsea. As a 33 year old man who has just moved to Sydney and living solo, I can relate to a lot of the mental, personal, and emotional triumphs and struggles you are going through and showing the whole world through your videos. The winter months are especially harsh for the mind and working from home is both a plus and a minus. I can especially relate to the sentiment of not finding fulfilment in one's job while not hating it completely, but needing it as a means to survive and fund your personal hobbies and growth pursuits. Just keep moving and progressing little by little is all we can try to do.

Love your vlogs and how genuine you are. I stopped following a few KZbinrs recently as they are trying to only show a perfect life not real life. Never change yourself for KZbin. Love you the way you are x

Hi Chelsea. Just want to add to all the love you’re getting for your very authentic vlogs. I stumbled upon one of your recent videos while researching NYC apartments and city life and now I’m a fan. I have a job interview in Manhattan this week and while the possibility of moving from the West Coast feels overwhelming, your videos have made it feel more real. Thank you. Take care of yourself and know we are rooting for you!

I love that you post the realness and truth! Sometimes it’s just truly hard being an adult! My go to decompress methods are music, working out or just being sitting in silence. Sometimes I just need to be for a moment! I also do love to go out on my back patio and do some deep breathing, fresh air is always helpful!

Your content is relatable and you're also super funny! The microfiber/disappointed mother joke was so funny to me :D And I also couldn't help but agree that community is so important for working people living far from home. I'm still working on trying to build my personal little support system of people. Thanks Chelsea!

Hello! New subscriber here! KZbin suggested your videos to me and they got it right. I'm a thirty-something living quite differently, but so much of what I see of your life in these videos is so familiar to me! Love that. It's real and messy and we all struggle in different ways, but there's something really soothing about recognising so much of your life in another's. Thanks for making these videos, I'll be looking forward to the next one.😊

I am so glad I found your channel by chance! I am also a 30 something female living in NYC working nonstop hours, feel like I never have enough money and just barely surviving. I agree a sense of community and knowing that we're not alone would do wonders for one's mental health.

Hi Chelsea, another look into your soul as you navigate life in the city, it’s wonderful to have you share all of this. Looking after your mental health is a huge thing and you’re already aware that you need to take a break. Making sure work isn’t all consuming is a huge thing, keeping this in check can be so difficult and as a single person it can become all consuming 😢. I love that you share all the ups and downs of day to day life, and with Spring weather you’ll get back to good health very soon❤

Um okay. Thank you. I don’t live anywhere near NYC but I used to live in a HCOL city. And it was a lot. I’m glad you’re video popped up. Subscribed! Very refreshing to see a real person blog. Others have very unrealistic personalities when living in NYC or any other HCOL city. It’s just not always fun so I enjoy watching your real life.

The part where you are cleaning the lens made me laugh out loud. And as for reset/Revivifying after a rough day at work, the act of cleaning ( usually the kitchen because it always needs a bit of clean up) makes me feel like I have that bit of control I crave and it’s sort of meditative ( sometimes I have a show I’ve seen before on in the background but not always). And recently, reading has been relaxing.

Chelsea, loved this vlog and your content. These are my favorite videos where you vlog and spend time dancing around your apartment. Love your Trader Joe hauls, so definitely not boring for me. Sometimes you just need Mac and cheese! You should really pat yourself on the back that you exercise because you work a long day and other people ( like me ) would just blow it off. Like you, I enjoyed spending time at home during quarantine. I wasn’t completely alone because I live with my husband and son. Daughter and parents nearby. My inner introvert liked the solitude. Will miss you during your break but know that you need it. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Take care!

I am so proud of you girl! Keep it up! I live alone as well and the best method for me to relieve stress is to listen to music! I would listen to some calming music with my eyes closed. That has been working well for me! Stay strong, you are amazing!
