Finally! someone who asked spike if he's ok! Also, doesn't matter because celestia never an actually set a deadline to meet. I know cuz I went back to the piolet and checked. *It only matters to twilight because she thought she did have a deadline.* Though she could have been more creative while observing the "small" problems and then put that into the letter. Like this! Dear Princess Celestia, Today I learned that a sense of friendship and community helps takle even the smallest of problems. Rarity had misplaced an important ribbon for a project and was really worried that it would be ruined. Thankfully, we found it and were able to finish it early. Apple Jack had to take down the family barn to put up a new one but she couldn't do so alone despite her strength. Luckily, rainbow dash was more than willing to use both her speed and strength to help with taking it down and clearing the debris. I helped a bit via shield and levitation spells to make sure no one was hurt. As we were getting ready for our picknick, I heard loud growls and thought fluttershy was in danger. Turns out, she was actually helping her bear Hairy with some muscle tension by giving him a massage. Though at first it looked more like she was fighting with him. All that done, pinkie and I set up the picnic so we could all enjoy a restful day together. Its amazing how far generosity and kindness can go in our day to day lives. Your faithful student, Twilight sparkle.

To be fair to Twilight, this is right after the whole thing with Discord, where everything was almost ruined, and the friendship reports that she sent to Princess Celestia helped save the day. I think she has a greater appreciation for them than she used to.

I would agree with you, but lets consider Twilight's past and family. Her brother is in the Royal Guard, whether or not he was actually Captain of the Royal Guard or not in Twi's fillyhood is unknown. Her family was most likely middle class before Twilight became Celestia's protege. She has spent most of her life under Celestia's watch, in the single most prestigious school in the country, if not the world. I imagine all of that combined caused her to have undiagnosed anxiety problems that no one picked up on because of the natural pressure that comes with that prestigious position. I can imagine how things would look to Twilight if she failed or disappointed Celestia in some way, if her entire fillyhood was reliant on Celestia's opinion of her. Even if that wasn't the case, I doubt Twilight (or anyone else for that matter) would know that. I might be biased in this case because I am exactly like that IRL when it comes to deadlines and assignments, but that's just my view of the situation.
