And THIS episode wonderfully illustrates why I HATE the simplistic message that shy people just need to be more assertive. To me, insecurity comes more from not knowing what to do than from being afraid to do it. You overcome insecurity by becoming more informed, moreso than by becoming more driven. And Fluttershy, for all her kindness (and yes, she is VERY kind despite her behavior here), has little empathy for some facets of people's behavior.. She just doesn't understand people very well. She doesn't understand how people can enjoy pranking each other, or roughhouse with one another, or compete against each other, and do all these things as an expression of love. So she has no way of really knowing when someone is bullying her versus when someone is truly just inviting her to play with them. And she is well aware of her limitations, moreso than how to overcome them, so that she dares not tell a joke, or get into an argument for fear of not understanding the protocols involved and actually hurting somebody. That's the real challenge for Fluttershy, and why it grates me whenever people complain about her 'learning the same lesson over and over'. Understanding humanity is a lifelong struggle, and you could dedicate a hundred episodes to that and never risk becoming stale.

Always found it interesting how people could be so shocked at fluttershy‘s attitude shift the more she started following iron Will’s advice. For one thing a flutter shy had always been a character that seem to be pushed around in someway shape or form all the sudden she has a way to finally express her grievances plus there’s the old adage of there is no one more ardent that a convert and you get the forgotten conclusion of flutter shy lashing out the way she did to pinkie pie and rarity.

this episode is why I believe Fluttershy is in the middle of the Five Stages of grief. season 1 episode 1-5 8-25 Isolation is stage one. Fluttershy lives on the outskirts of Ponyville. season 1 episode 26 Anger which is stage two. season 1 episode 7 and season 2 episode 21 Barginning stage 3 season 2 episode 1,2,19,23 Depression. stage four. Highly emotional. uncontrollable random extreme emotion changes and easy to convince something that isn't right. and season 2 episode 22 Acceptance. season 3 episode 10 growth.

The Cure For Bronies the lost of family. we are almost to season 5 and they haven't shown fluttershy's family yet. the odds are by now they won't. we know Rarity's family and pinkie pie's. we know that Rainbow dash has a parent.. we know that twilight's family is okay. we also know that Applejack's parents are dead. so that leaves fluttershy's family unaccounted for.

Gotta ask...what is Angel's problem? Fluttershy goes completely out of her way to help him, take care of him and protect him. But what does he do, instead; he picks on her, beats her up and attacks her friends (ex. Spike.) He may be a bit of a brat. But most brats don't act the way he does. So...Rabbit Season, FIRE! On the matter of this episode's theme. I know EXACTLY how Fluttershy feels. When I was a kid, people picked on me non-stop. I was called retarded (the knew of my special needs,) people stole my stuff when I wasn't looking. One bully even took a paper towel wad, soaked it in urine from one of the urinals and threw it at me. Many times, I tried to be assertive and stand up for myself. But all it did was get me into trouble. Which is why I remember this phrase. To be angry is easy...but to use it at the right time, at the right person and for the right reason. THAT takes real strength

Now I understand. You started on later episodes, created a backstory, and reworked your OC to fit in the early years before tragedy took you when reviewing earlier episodes. That would explain why there are some blazer glasses episodes with inferior quality to your two eyes winged episodes, and why the blazer glasses appearance makes an appearance at the end of these videos.
