This is high up on my best albums list. Joyryde is, without a doubt, one of the top in the bass house field. Legendary.

i see reasonings didn't make the video, so here are mine: 18 (my 16): i continue my sleep 17 (my 18): i sleep 16 (my 15): they've literally not once counted backwards from 10 while they knock me out 15 (my 17): honestly this just doesn't work for me at all 14 (my 12): i keep forgetting about this song which is a shame because it'd probably rank high on literally any other album 13 (my 13): the vocals are really not for me but the prod is spot on, like always 12 (my 7): not often that i say this when talking about joyryde but the vocals absolutely carry this one 11 (my 11): pretty standard joyryde stuff here but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that 10 (my 8): i went from finding those vocals annoying to loving them in the span of about 2 days 9 (my 9): nothing like a good sax sample to spice things up 8 (my 6): easily one of the nastiest switches i have heard in my entire life 7 (my 10): gotta love those well placed engine noises 6 (my 5): these are without a doubt the catchiest vocal chops i've ever heard and they're atonal like how did he do that 5 (my 4): that little drum roll in the second drop is just way too good 4 (my 14): can't deny the immense amount of work that went into this but i was never really a huge fan of it (shoutout to the absolutely killer vocals though) 3 (my 2): this is a hype up song in every sense of the term and i absolutely love it 2 (my 3): and i thought i slay's switch was good 1 (my 1): this song features literally everything i love about joyryde and as a result it's an easy #1 overall: big yes, joyryde you god

My reasonings that no one asked for 18.) The verses are cool, and the milk vocal sample is hilarious, but the instrumental sections are too slow for my liking. 17.) Same story as Milk, but less interesting. 16.) Very decent intro. Sets up On Fire well, and works well in conjunction with the album’s theme. 15.) Not into this one much. 14.) A very standard JOYRYDE track. That means it’s still good. 13.) I like the calmer mood this one has, but I find it a bit borez. 12.) The second drop has terrible vocal sampling but the verses are dope and the first drop is very cool. 11.) The switchups are naughty and Mika Means is so good in her role here. 10.) This is too fast and out of control for me, personally. 9.) The drums and sax make this one iconic. 8.) Second drop is flames, first drop is midtempo. 7.) The beat makes me not like this as much, but the bassline is sick. 6.) The vocal chops make this one stand out to me, but props for the unique buildup. Drop sounds like if Matroda and Boys Noize had a kid. One of my favorite songs of the year so far, and one of JOYRYDE’s best. 5.) Good vocal chops, great use of the steel drum, fun stuff overall. 4.) There’s a reason every DJ still drops this song in their sets. 3.) The outro feels even more blue balls-y in the context of the album, but both drops are good and Gold shines. 2.) The album’s first single was a good sign of things to come, but I wasn’t as into it as some people. 1.) A fitting number one. It seems like a weird fit on this album but I like it a lot nevertheless

Madlad for 2 vids in 2 days. Here’s what I thought of brave (my ratings are a tad outdated now) 18 - PRE OP (n/a) - Intro Is Intro 17 - MILK (5) - This is the only full-length I can get into. Nothing about this stands out.. at all. 16 - ARTERIES (6) - I’m not huge on the production here which is a damn shame because I love the verses here. I didn’t think I’d heard of any feature on BRAVE (besides Freddie Gibbs ofc) but turns out I’ve heard a few songs from this guy, none of them stand up to this though. 15 - I SLAY (6.5) - Theres parts of this thats really hype, like really hype. But as an overall package im not mad for I SLAY. This generates similar energy to the TYNAN remix of ANTI ACID but the drop s unfortunately a pretty standard midtempo one. 14 - FAIL ME (7) - This is like the pivotal JOYRYDE house song, it’s not great for his own standards but it’s still a JOYRYDE house song. It might go on a bit too long too. 13 - FOCUS (7) - basically what I just said but replace house for trap. 12 - RTTB (7) - JOYRYDE garage is cleannn and despite this being one of my favourite genres, it doesn’t quite weigh up to the stuff he’s a natural at. 11 - 4AM (7) - oooo these late night vibes I’m loving, I really wouldn’t mind more of this moody style from JOYRYDE, it’s really only done twice on this album but it’s enough to leave me gagging for more. 10 - GOT REAL (7.5) - Dirtyyyy 9 - BROOKLYN (7.5) - Wanna know what a Dog Blood x Matroda collab would sound like?? I usually don’t like these kind of drops, so having BROOKLYN this high is kinda testament to why I think this man is one of the best house artists of all time. 8 - SELECTA 19 (7.5) - this was probably the most lowkey album single ever released. Which is a shame because it’s mad hype, the vocal sample was made for this backing. 7 - YARDIE (7.5) - YARDIE is probably the most interesting and least conventional song here, but I really really like it. That’s all I got. 6 - DAMN (7.5) - This is now the second time a song from my “songs I want on Spotify” series that’s finally made the move over and I could’ve be happier. Freddie Gibbs is far and beyond the biggest name on this album and his performance doesn’t disappoint. The drop however, holy Mo. 5 - ON FIRE (8) - What am I even supposed to say this high up on this ranking? It’s a house song and it slaps. The bass clashes with the steel drum perfectly. 4 - THRILL (8.5) - Soooo dope, this song didn’t need a music video because it conveys its mood and paints that picture of late night driving so well. Yeah I can’t wait to get out with this one on! MAJILLA also puts in my 2nd fav vocal performance on BRAVE. 3 - MADDEN (9) - You’re gonna give us a clubby Intro and a future house fakeout. Man this one isn’t even fair. 2 - IM GONE (9) - Everything I love about JOYRYDE’s bass house rolled into one. A completely bombastic experience from start to finish. The way it goes into that last drop is sooo satisfying too. 1 - YUCK (9) - Want me to say it? This is one of the greatest trap vocal performances of all time. And the production doesn’t even cower to it, it’s just as hype and I love it.
