Here we are with your monthly NWA review. Not going to lie I really enjoyed the first episode, but not the second one. We got to see TNA debuts for Perry Saturn, Viscera, New Jack & Bart Gunn and they had mixed debuts. And of course lots of Slapnuts and D'Lo Brown!

"Konnan is somehow a man who looks fat, muscly and lanky at the same time." That made me laugh because of how true that looks. Also, the episode where AJ holds a chainsaw and the one where Sonny "Don't Look At My Ass" Siaki got his nickname from! Also holy crap that Raven promo in the 2nd ep was just...he must have been tripping on some substance before the show.

This is actually the lead-up to New Jack vs. Gypsy Joe, which would happen soon after. Nashville had another NWA affiliate at the time that would borrow TNA talent like Brian Lee and Chase Stevens, and a young Ken Anderson (with ODB) Shawn Daivari and Ken Doane. It was with this affiliate (NWA Main Event) that Gypsy wrestled at the time, so they borrowed Jack for the match. The rest is unfortunate history.

Very happy to see AJ Styles show up on Slammiversary for that quick shout out to Impact/TNA. He really did build TNA. It was to the point where he was pretty much 'ran out' of the company, but lead to a greater blessing for him and his family I am sure. Such a talented wrestler.

Early TNA was quick and to the point, it was rarely boring even though it could be bad at times. It was easy viewing.
