@CosmicTeapot
@CosmicTeapot 3 ай бұрын
@@caramelldansen2204I don't think what they meant has anything to do with Lord of the Rings. I sort of get it too, it's the appeal of living a simple, honest life. Today we have endless choices, opportunities and it's easy to feel depressed and overwhelmed by decision fatigue. I'm in a very high pressure and cerebral line of work, and I often find myself wishing I could just use my hands all day to do one thing incredibly well, and earn my bread that way. Not sure about medieval times though, I do enjoy not dying of diarrhea at age 36, but tradesmanship in general can be very appealing.

I'm a cabinet maker in a modern shop. Only once in a while do we get a special project where I get to play with my hand tools (I do more hand stuff off the clock). Hand cutting joinery on large timber for several days in a row sounds like an ideal vacation to me.
