A busy place to see freight trains "Water Orton East & Station"

Decided to do some filming a Water Orton which is local to me but I don't go there very much, but if you want to see plenty of freight working through here its a very good place to visit.

Cheers Darren, yes you can go wrong with WO, always something to film, and it pulls me there if something special comes along. I’ve not got a computer at the moment as it failed over a week ago, so I’m getting way behind with videos I need to upload.

Hi, thanks for the video, really good - I had my first visit to Water Orton yesterday and took some video but I need some practice to frame correctly!!! Could you tell me - East of Water Orton is this video taken at the pedestrian crossing point or the bridge?

I have had to watch the video as I did this in 2020, filmed at the station and at the foot crossing east of the station.

66 505 came on a light loco move form Leeds to Crewe I got it at my local and then it got used for freight

Evening Mike. Great mix of traffic and no fizzy knitting above the rails lol 😂 It was a real shame cross country trains were aloud too run such short formations 🙄 Cross county trains should have done as Trans Pennie have done locomotive hauled stock with new coaches 😄 Or even better Mk3/4 coached with a class 67 maybe 😊 I wish 🤣 I'm on annual leave this week but unfortunately we can't get to our home in Spain 🇪🇸 so we're on days out 👍🏻 Anyway take care and keep safe cheers Stevie.

That is very bad luck that Spain is off again, but going back to your XC comment, yes that would be like the old days when the Birmingham to Norwich service was six coaches and a class 31 passing through this area. (such great days)

As there is not a full service on the Transpennine services they are using some of the locos on freight working. Thank for your interest in this video.

The TPE didn't do to well visiting Anglia, breaking down at Norwich then failing again for the return working to Sellafield and was dump at Bury St Edmund's before being dragged to Willesden Brent
