i just wanted to say that you are such a good mom. obviously you are such a genuine person that I expected nothing less, but the way you explain things and talk to Cove as she gets older as if she's a girl friend almost instead of talking AT her out of authority is amazing. the way you ask her what she wants, and explain certain foods, or even just the schedule for the day. its all setting her up to feel validated in herself and her emotions giving her better communication skills and control over her emotions later on, as you just let her feel happy and sad or frustrated without forcing anything on her. I am nowhere near becoming a mom, but I have worked with children for a while now, and I just wanted to let you know how incredible you're doing.

My daughter and Cove are about 10 days apart, and mine stopped napping shortly after turning 2. I personally love it because she goes to sleep so easily at night now ☺️ when she napped no matter how early it was she would stay up SO late

i’m a preschool teacher for 3 and 4 year olds, and we have a rest time every day! a lot of parents are mixed about whether or not their kids nap at home, but we always have that time to hopefully have them sleep if not just rest quietly! so i think you’re doing a good job with cove and keeping her busy in the morning/afternoon will help make for a more productive rest time! which you are also good at so yay! 💓

i used to work at a daycare in the 1 & 2 years old room and it’s so normal for some kids to stop napping around that age but we always offered each day if they had wanted to nap but if not they were told to have quiet time. so i would say just keep doing what you’re doing

My daughter is a month older than cove and she used to nap at 12/12:30. She hasn’t stopped napping but is definitely napping later between 1:30/2:00pm! She isn’t tired enough or ready to nap at noon anymore so maybe pushing her nap time back can be helpful for Cove!

My toddler around 2 years has hit or miss naps. Maybe 2 or 3 days out of the week she will nap. The rest she can have quiet time atleast 1 hour . She just talks to stuffy or her 1 book

My son stopped napping at a little over 2 1/2. It seemed a bit early to me but it just wasn’t working for our family (for him mainly it was such a struggle and then he took forever to go to sleep at night). We still do quiet time in the middle of the day, and that has made the biggest difference. It gives him the rest that his body needs, he doesn’t fight it/he’s happy to do it, and he goes to sleep so fast at night. Every kid is so different, and I think the average age kids stop napping varies a lot so I’d just do what feels best for Cove and your family 💗

Our babies are the same age. I moved nap time back 30mins (12 to 1230) as well as bedtime (from 7pm to 730) and it fixed the nap refusal issue

I have an almost 2.5 year old and an almost 2 month old, very similar to your 2 babies! My toddler is just now dropping her nap most days. But it’s nice because putting her to bed around 8pm has become a lot easier-although she is superrrr cranky around 6:30pm lol. This video was very relatable lol ❤️

At the Montessori I worked at, the kids had to sit on their bed for an hour at least - can be less at home! If they don’t fall asleep in that time they can have quiet time but it’s usually reading or colouring!

I'd set it up where it's comfortable and she'd likely nap, but if it's just quiet time and she doesn't fall asleep, that's okay too. It's hard when naps are taken away, but it's nice sometimes, depending on the flow of the day and how busy we are. Also different w 1/2/3 kids. 💞 you're doing wonderful!

Keep the nap/quiet time! Preferably still in her crib. Soft toys and small books and she’ll likely fall asleep on her own. Basically still nap time but then no pressure if she doesn’t fall asleep. Highly recommend for everyone’s sanity - and her development!

The activity and snack look fun. The salad looks delicious! My girl stopped napping at one. If she wakes up before 6AM, and sometimes she will take a two hour nap either in the morning or afternoon. If not I try and do a quiet activity like her favorite movie "The Snowman" 30 minutes no high pitched kid voices or color. I hope you and your family have a great week!

Hey! When I was little & it was time to say goodbye to my pacifier, talking to myself before nap time or bed time was a self soothing mechanism in place of a pacifier. My parents started playing audio books for me at sleep time & it worked like a charm to stop me from keeping myself awake by talking to myself :) Try audio books for kids!

Aspen you do so wel lwith both girls.. I just love Cove she's really talking so good. Having a lunch date in car was priceless. I love your sald it look super yumi. The uhaul of groceries were nice. I love all different stuff. I liked how you set Coves table. So healthy. Painting rocks was super sweet. Such neat projects . Lola I would keep in your room 6months they only stay little for a short while. You could get a play and pack in your room for her to stretch out more The brezze or Graco dome are nice ones.. My son went through a nap/sleep regression at almost 2.5 yo and I just kept the nap routine the same and after a couple weeks he’s been doing so much better. I agree it’s too early for him not to nap 😱

My first stopped napping just after her second birthday! I was so sad because she took a solid two hour nap every day until then. She will still sometimes nap in the car if we’ve been out or on the sofa if we’ve had a busy morning. But no structured naps anymore 😭

My daughter is afew months younger than cove-- and she only naps afew days a week now, its so hit or miss. I do still put her in her crib to "nap" but many days she just grabs books out of her nightstand to 'read" she entertains herself doing this anywhere from 1-2 hours, and then we restart our day. I miss her napping tho--I mean I'm glad she does a bit of quiet time but I feel like i need more time than that to get stuff done! --also on days she doesn't nap, she's passed out at 6:20 b/c shes completely exhausted.
