The Apple head! And Eloise saying ‘maybe too much love!’ How darling. When William was born I felt that Theo wasn’t really old enough to appreciate having a little sibling but now he’s so fully involved. It’s so sweet. And William being so happy to have a little sib. The cutest

Hey! In case there are any moms of newborns reading this, please be very careful of having anyone with cold sores around your baby. Currently in hospital with my two month old because a family member kissed the top of her head. Overall she will need a month of treatment and two weeks in hospital. We had our baby diagnosed very early after exposure. If it had taken longer things could have been much worse. Spreading the word so other parents don’t have to go through this!
@melindaedgington9925 Жыл бұрын
Yes to this. Cold sore virus can kill a new born. I am so glad your baby got help. I work with Mums and as a rule of thumb nobody should kiss a new born but Mum, Dad and maybe sibs.
@lilyc649 Жыл бұрын
@@melindaedgington9925 Totally agree. We have a “no kissing our children on mouth or face” rule in our household, but we now know it wasn’t enough. The doctors believe that the virus was able to enter her body through cradle cap or a small scratch. Either way she didn’t have any visible scratches or marks on her head. Also if mom, dad or siblings have cold sores they should not kiss baby anywhere and wash their hands very well before touching baby.

Wow thank you for this. My mom often has cold sores. I will have to be very aware of that.

Oh my goodness this happened to me! Someone kissed me when I was a baby and I got cold sores that covered me from head to toe. Obviously I’m better now but I still occasionally get cold sores and they Suck!
@melindaedgington9925 Жыл бұрын
@@mollystratton560 Sorry to hear this happened to you. My mother in law gave me the cold sore virus when I was 30. My whole face was covered with cold sores for about a month. The cold sore virus will live in you forever but your body can deal with it better now.

I love how you can already tell how special the bond between Eloise and Anna Beth is going to be 🥺 I myself (as the sister of two younger brothers) can only imagine there's something very special about having a sister 💗 And also, it's so lovely to see how loving your kids are in general, knowing it is like that because they can really look up to you and Zach x

My daughter hated baths as a newborn until a friend told me about swaddle bathing! She didn’t cry at all once I tried it. Just swaddle her as normal (but with nothing else on) and put the baby in the sink/tub. Then you can unwrap an arm to wash it, cover it back up, unwrap the other arm to wash, cover it back up, and repeat with legs, etc. It keeps her feeling warmer and more secure. Hope this helps!!

Seeing Eloise with Annabeth makes me so happy & hopeful for the future. I struggle with the fear of bringing in new babies and my oldest daughter feeling left behind, but to see how much she loves helping and loving on her baby sister is so encouraging…. Also, if we are having a girl we are using compound name starting with Anna, so to hear you say it is so sweet. Annabeth is such a darling name❤️ Thank you for sharing about your relationship with the Lord and the work you are putting in. He is so good to us and his word is the nutrition we need for everyday life. It is both convicting and encouraging to hear you talk about your faith.

I like the little bits of reality sprinkled in! FYI: Using the Haakaa on one side while nursing on the other can lead to overproduction of milk and, thus, more engorgement. Too much engorgement for too long can result in clogged ducts or other unpleasant situations (I've had them all). Sunflower lecithin really helps. I'm currently using, and LOVING, the milk savers instead of the Haakaa. Just pop one inside of your bra on the other side than you're nursing on. Then empty into a bottle inside a cooler beside your bed so you don't have to walk all the way to the kitchen. Also, you do not need a huge freezer stash, so don't feel bad if you're not producing this much milk. ESPECIALLY, if you aren't going back to work. For those who ARE going back to work, you only need enough for the next day. Best of luck and with love!
@jessicadrawsthings Жыл бұрын
I just want to say, rest!! Two weeks of bleeding is normal, but constant bleeding after that for so long indicates that you aren't resting enough to heal properly. The general rule is 5 days postpartum in bed, 5 days within arms-reach of your bed, and 5 days to stay in the house for postpartum recovery. After that midwives and doulas will say to still refrain from too much activity. Remember there is a plate-sized (8 inch) open wound in your uterus from where the placenta detached that must heal, hormones need to stabilize, and milk is getting established, among many other adjustments. Best of luck!

Recently the Lord told me to slow down. So I've been trying to be really intentional about that. I love your videos because there's this beautiful sense of peace and stillness about them. They are the opposite of overstimulating, even the color aesthetic of them is quiet. When I get a moment to myself they are a lovely way to slow down and a great reminder even just of what that can look like. 🧡 Also, I'm 25 weeks pregnant and so looking forward to the moment I get to hold my baby for the first time. This baby was diagnosed with a heart condition so my newborn stage might look different, but I'm praying it turns out to be as miraculous and healing as yours. 🧡

1 week in the bed, 1 week on the bed and 1 week around the bed.......as a postpartum doula, that's what I try to get my clients to practice. the house work can wait. this is such an important bonding time, nothing else is more important. And of course for healing too.... i would have my work cut out with Delilah lol.....

I came to the comments wondering if anyone else was concerned with the lack of rest (of course everyone is different and has different needs) I had not heard a whole week for each of those steps! I tried 5/5/5 with my second and couldn't do it. I did take it easy though and didn't leave my house for the first two weeks. I'm hoping to do that again this third time here in a week or so. It's also hard when you don't have much support around. My husband currently has a back injury and I know he'll do what he can to help out but he also needs rest.

@@lindsayminn9101I also think this description can be helpful for many but too rigid for some. For me post c section I needed the encouragement to get up and move for healing. I know I"m responding late here, but I wanted to say I am so glad you aren't looking at your phone constantly, either. This is a problem many parents seem to have today, even if they have young children is they can't seem to put their phone down for long and pay attention to their children. It's a real shame they can't seem to do that. So glad you are making a point to put your phone down more often and be with and interact with your kids. I'm sure your kids appreciate that. They need YOU, not a phone mom.
