Great tutorial, my fist step into our 2015 Town and Country hydro locked engine repair; I do have an inficon machine for the recovery but everything is coming out including the front of the vehicle; this repair was quoted around 13k at dealer, not used engine but one from Mopar, unfortunately my Mopar lifetime warranty and Progressive insurance neither wanted to pay so they all told me to get rid of the car which it is not acceptable hence will do the challenge myself, not my first but my second rodeo with an engine replacement; my first was a 2004 Toyota Corolla and after almost 2 years still running, this time around for the Chrysler challenge I got installed in my garage a half lift from Bend Pak, a Max Jax which raises the van off the floor and gives me 32 inches of clearance to work under it, very comfortable kind of sitting-laying on the Ergo Chair creeper I could even take a nap on it. Than you for taking the time to show the steps; it is because of people like you and you tube that this becomes possible to do for people like me who are not a pro mechanic!

Thanks once again for sharing. Always love watching your videos. But I would like to suggest that next time, you should drain and measure the oil from the old compressor. Add same amount measured to the new compressor after draining the oil that came with it. This is recommended practice and it's called oil balancing. Thank you

Is there a way to do this without the refrigerant machine?
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair10 ай бұрын
@rbjr7469 it's hard without the machine unless you go to a shop and have them recover the refrigerant for you!
@fireyourrocketts7 ай бұрын
If you do not have the machine most shops will recover the refrigerant free of charge; in my case the first time and this time around doing it for second time my vehicles are disabled, so I invested in a system and paid around $1200 for all needed. Fixed one car already, have 2 more to go, the machine lets me do it at home and be compliant with State laws and most importantly the environment; it is not a machine like the one he shows here as this ones are shop specific and too expensive for the home mechanic but the one and everything else I got works really nice too.

@@fireyourrockettsNice!, Could you please provide some details on the unit you’re talking about? Sounds like it’s somewhat affordable (considering what it’s able to do) for diy’rs like myself! Thanks!!!!!

What would happen if I just replace the compressor without that machine?
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair4 ай бұрын
@rainbowpoms11 it's gonna be difficult to recover the refrigerant!

@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair why? I would just add more ? What’s the difference if I ad it after or a machine does it after ? I don’t have the machine but I have the gauge on the AC can?

@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair my condenser and compressor is completely full right now. The only thing that’s messed up on my compressor is the clutch. Are you saying that all of it all of the refrigerant is going to escape when I disconnect that line for a couple minutes? like I need an actual genuine reason of what would happen.
@rainbowpoms114 ай бұрын
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair what would make it difficult? Exactly
@aLaCartePizza4 ай бұрын
@@rainbowpoms11 if it only needs the clutch you can unbolt the four bolts. And drop it to get to the clutch. If you don’t have clearance because of the high and low lines. You’ll have to disconnect the lines. The refrigerant will escape completely in like 30 seconds. It’s under pressure. It’s necessary to recover all the refrigerant before you even disconnect anything. Be careful.
