I heard you might not be doing so well, so I stop by with some of your favorite ASMR triggers to help you to relax, sleep and most importantly, to enjoy the tingles and feel better.
This is my first 60fps video and I don't know if there's really much of a difference, but feel free to let me know what you think. I may just start doing them in this format "just because"...
Monthly shout-out to patrons at the end credits.
All my best,
ER

What is ASMR?
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current (non-scientific) name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering and personal attention.
ASMR videos are not only meant to help induce ASMR or "tingles", but also help provide a relaxing, calming and soothing experience for the viewer while helping to relieve their anxiety, stress, insomnia, to help those suffering with PTSD or depression, to serve as a study aid and more.

That awkward moment where a KZbinr is a better friend than your actual friends. Edit: Six years later and I'm actually damn good at making friends. Sometimes the place you live is just filled with the wrong people. Been watching since 14 and I'm nearly 23 now. Just a cool dude

Hey Ephemeral Rift, I have been a subscriber of yours for a couple of years now, but have never commented on any of your videos; not because I do not appreciate your videos as much as other ASMRists out there, but because I generally just do not really comment on videos at all. I just wanted to take the time to say that I really appreciated how straight-up you were in this video, from beginning to end. What I mean to say by that is how you acknowledged that you know that you may not be able to be that kind of friend in real life that [we] probably need, but you wanted [us] to know that you still wish [us] all your best and that [we] have your support, and that you care about [us] and all the viewers and subscribers who have it hard. I thought it added a deeper sense of realness to this video that other Rift World videos lack (not to say they lack in the ASMR trigger department, because they definitely do not). I do not know how else to explain it other than it felt like you were actually talking to me, the user behind my account, and it did not just feel like watching a video on KZbin. I got my ASMR triggers that I came for, but I also got something more deep and profound that I did not expect I would get while clicking on this video. So I would like to thank you for the amazing and consistent material you keep uploading, and to thank you for your support and thoughts for your viewers and subscribers, because it really shows that you have great consideration for your fanbase. From someone who is actually not doing so well recently, this video was exactly what I needed.

I don't think Rift needs to respond to show him care about his fans. He already did by making tons of videos dedicating hundreds hours of his own private time. And I don't think BeatProjekt posted to beg for attention. Both of them sound much more mature than these following comments here because their main purpose was to show appreciation and help for others, not asking things for themselves. Please at least learn from their mature attitude and perspective when you watch this precious yet free given video. You will be happier and grow more in life when you can see the greatness in people and learn from them :)

This video takes me back. I watched this ASMR on repeat during a toxic relationship. I even downloaded this because of how much I depended on it while I cried in campus, hoping to sleep off the pain. I wished to have someone care for me, notice that I was hurt, and reach out and ask if I was okay. I just wanted someone to acknowledge I was hurting and that I existed. It's been 4 years since and I am in a better place. I only remembered this video while cleaning my playlists. I find it bittersweet that I no longer look for this video when things go south. But thank you for this E.R. I felt like I had a friend who acknowledged I was hurt. For anyone who reads this, things can be shit right now. Or, maybe it's been a while since something happened but you're still hurt. It will suck for a while. Allow yourself to cry and hang on. It may be long and bleak till then, but everything will pass. ------- (Edit: It's been years. I couldnt find the words then. But I was being isolated where I get silent treatment when people check up on me or when I was obviously upset. ASMR (this primarily and many others) helped me feel less alone; I didn't have to suck up my pain and I felt worthy of being comforted. Until later on, I didn't have to be scared of showing to people I was not ok. If anyone was in a similar situation, please know you deserve to be asked if you are okay. You deserve concern and love. If your loved one is isolating you to deprive you of that from people, they don't love you. It doesn't seem like it, but you have that strength. Take care of yourself slowly - and with it, build the strength to find the ones that truly love you and who wishes to hear your pain out. You may forget it, but you are worthy of people who ask if you are okay.)

I cried when I watched this video just now :( I'm sorry for such a late message, I know you won't see this, but I'm really concerned about my best mate Jonathan (he's like a brother to me) I don't know if I'm just overreacting and I'm worrying about nothing (I hope so) but he doesn't seem to be himself. For example, when I was with him on Friday he seemed really distant and shut off, I just hope everything's okay, I don't know what I'd do if I lost him, he's one of the only people who understands me, I feel I can tell him anything and everything without him judging me and no matter what happens, I just hope he knows I'm always here for him if he ever wants to talk, I'm always here if he needs someone to listen, I'm always here if he needs a shoulder to cry on, I'm always here if he doesn't know who to turn to or where to go, I'm always here when he's in need of a friend, someone to tell him he's doing great even if he don't feel/think he is, someone who'll be beside him every step of the way and I'm always here when he feels alone but most importantly, I'm always here when he needs me most, no matter what time it is. He's been there with me through some pretty bad times, such as when I got rushed to hospital twice I two days (1st day because of agonising pain in my right hip down and inability to move my right leg or foot/toes and the day after because I fell headfirst down 12 concrete steps at college).

I had an idea for a character that I thought you could pull off, and that I haven't really seen done yet. Basically it's someone who knows nothing.... they could have amnesia or they could be a clone, but the basic concept is that they are trying to learn about their surroundings through touch and sight. They could either be silent or speak in grunts or even try to sound out rough simple words, but the main theme would be "curiosity". I got the idea years ago, before I knew what ASMR was, from watching the "Oh there you are Peter" scene from Hook.

I've been a bit depressed lately, so I needed this. Thank you, uncle E. I always like the 'caring friend' type videos. I think it's the genuine concern and friendliness that the artist conveys, and the feeling of personal attention. That's also why I like the kind of 'flea picking' motions you did. I'm normally not a fan of beer, but I got to try out a chocolate beer at my friends place (they're experts when it comes to types of beer) and it was pretty great. A hint of cocoa in it, with a bit bitter aftertaste. Also I love the idea of the ASMbaRbecue. If it's sometime next year I could be there, even, as I'm moving to the US but it'll take a few months before my visa is approved, and well, then it'll be winter which isn't great barbecuing weather anymore. I'd love to try my hand at making an ASMR or relaxing video, but not sure I have something good to offer, or the right equipment to record it properly. Maybe that'll come in the future. For now I just get to enjoy what you and others make, and I'm okay with that. Again, thank you for this video.

I'm not even 12 minutes in and I've cried three separate times. It seems silly but I really needed to hear what you had to say in order to let it out. I didn't even realise I needed to, but I've not cried in quite a while so I must've been overdue. Haha. I thought it was going to be a role-play. I'm starting a new job later on today but I'm having trouble sleeping so I've been searching for the "right" ASMR video for a fair few hours now. This video did nothing for me ASMR-wise like it usually would, but it didn't matter. Maybe I just needed to hear the words. I'm going through quite a bit lately, having to deal with other people's problems and constantly relied on for support but receiving very little back. I finally cracked yesterday and exploded at my other half, swearing and shouting about all the problems I have. It was totally out the blue and not fair on him at all, but he dealt with it the way he usually does, sat there quiet and told me he didn't know what to do in order to help, so I feel like nothing got fixed or made better. I really appreciate the time you took to make this and how honest you came across. A few things you said made me giggle and smile, and I particularly enjoyed the beard-stroking, as always. Please keep up the good work, as you're the most down-to-earth ASMR artist out there, with the most open and unconditonal connection with your audience. Your videos aren't filled with asking us to like and subscribe, or requesting we pay money to some account. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being your vibrant and unique self.

Kevin Versteegen Thats because the most natural fps for the eye is 24 (movies are 24 fps) it's not true that 60 fps is the most accurate ''real life movement'', you don't see blur if he moves his hands fast with 60fps, while if you try in real life, you do see blur. I don't get the hype over 60fps, it just isn't natural. Sorry for the bad explanation I didn't want to get to long or uninteresting hahah
