Good morning Nan ☀ Great video. I want to thank you for your inspiration. I have been drinking green smoothies for over 5 years. And while I feel so much better, my arthritis in my left thumb has gotten worse to the point I was going to see an orthopedic surgeon. I decided to measure out my raw veggies to make sure I got 1.5 pounds of raw veggies of which 1 pound is cruciferous. I also didn't realize I was not getting enough water. Just by increasing the cruciferous and water, my pain has gone from 7/10 to 2/10. I am soooo happy. Love you 😘 Have a blessed day 🙏

Thanks. I have been HN since March 2024 (WFPB since 2014 and did green juicing everyday from 2008 until 2020 when I knew that my gut was really healthy) and did the full protocol during the month of August. I plan on doing the full protocol again during February. On HN I eat raw broccoli and cauliflower (1/4 ib each) with guac which I eat in the morning (like Chef AJ I love eating/chewing food) and the smoothie with a 1/4 ib each of kale or spinach and a 1/4 lb. red cabbage, 1/2 cup of chia and flax and for fruit usually mango, blueberries and strawberries. When I remember, I add cranberry powder, turmeric, ginger and black pepper. It works. 3.5 liters of water a day. I am exactly the same age as you Nan and eating like this takes the stress out of getting older as I know I am doing the best I can no matter what happens. 🙂

Hi Nan! This made me LOL! You’ve, literally, had the very same experience as me at the end of last week! I’m not totally certain, but I was using chard and spinach from a local grower, with long stalks. Maybe the stalks were too fibrous, or something, because my 2004 Vitamix Stopped. Dead. We were about to order another when I discovered what looked like a safety switch (like a breaker?) at the base. We teased it back out and it’s been fine. It’s the first time we’ve had an issue after 20 years 😃 Great video as usual too! ☺️🌸🙏

Thanks losttheplotat60! I failed to say in this demonstration, that when this originally happened, it was the cap of the cover that had fallen into the blender, unbeknownst to me until I removed everything. What an amazing machine that everything worked fine afterward. 😂 Thanks for connecting 🌻🥰🌻

Nan, I don’t like smoothies in the winter time. So I eat my smoothies. And yes, I can eat all of that because I chopped it up to small little pieces. You would call it a chopped salad or a spoon salad. My salad dressing, I use half of an avocado, Bragg amino‘s, a little Sriracha, some rice vinegar, and I use flax oil as my omega-3’s. couple of scoops of nutritional yeast, little pepper, turmeric, garlic powder, I might even add some red peppers and red onions. I add water to whatever thickness I want it to be and I blend it in my ninja bullet.
@NanSimonsen

Your salad dressing sounds delicious Laura. And yes, I think we could eat all of our greens and cruciferous vegetables as a chopped salad. On this protocol, I mean, drinking the Full smoothie, and eating an additional 2 pound salad, 1 pound of which is green and cruciferous. He made a very good point. Thank you for sharing! 🌻🥰🌻

@ I did the protocol back in 2019. But I know a lot has changed since I did it. I did do the smoothie when I was doing the protocol. I listen to your newest video today and I had to laugh because I used to get so frustrated every time Thomas would tell me I was doing something wrong when I knew I was doing everything right. But obviously I wasn’t. 🤣 it’s wonderful being in a group and having them walk beside you.

Yes, I’ve heard from others that things have changed since 2019, and since Covid. I think they were good then, and a simply gotten better and better at knowing what works for people and helping people through the process. I know I’m thoroughly enjoying this, I must say, though, that it was helpful that I’ve already done six weeks of GL on my own this last September, and that I’ve been plant based more than six years. If I had to learn all of that, yikes, that would be a lot.🌻💖🌻

Your point is well taken. I wish I could say I'm tough enough to eat all that stuff as a salad. But this blender idea might work. I need to buy a blender, and get some kale, broccoli, flax seeds, frozen fruit, bananas, and maybe grapes. Good demonstration! Edited to say I like the choice of drinking by straw or regular glass drinking.

For a really smooth blend that grinds up the flax and Chia-which you can be added whole-if it’s in the budget, I recommend a Vitamix blender. Costco currently has one on sale.☺️

Good idea! What I missed saying in the video was that the reason it didn’t work was that the cap of the cover had fallen into the blender and without realizing it I filled it with the ingredients. Many times I don't feel like a full blender, so just make a smaller size smoothie with my frozen greens, 1/2 banana, almond milk and water. I is still pretty green though. Still eat a giant cruciferous salad for dinner. Do you have a link for that silicone tip straw you are using?

If you’re on the Goodbye Lupus protocol the rest of what you are eating is raw- mainly vegetables, with an emphasis on the deep, leafy, green and cruciferous vegetables, but others can be included. Fruit is kept to 25% by volume or less. I hope that’s helpful. Happy new year!🎉

So, I have decided, from your testimony of the benefits of Dr Goldner’s protocol, to incorporate a green smoothie (much smaller though) and more water in my daily routine (which has a lot in common with yours). You are an inspiration, thank you!

I wonder if it wouldn't be too powerful for someone who doesn't have inflammatory issues. What happens to the level of lymphocytes?

Hi! Actually, many people, including Dr Goldner, and me, continue to do hyper nourishment ongoing. She has done it for 19 years, though cured of Lupus throughout. Here protocols all create stellar immune systems. 🌻🥰🌻

It looked to me like you started it on hi instead of low (couldn’t tell if that was the case). When I have that sound it is because I started it at too high a number. Once I start it on 1 it starts to break up the stuff at the bottom and eventually the rest as I start raising the number to a higher number.

Thanks for your thoughts Marie!Actually, the demonstration I was doing for this video was simply to show what had happened before. I typically, as I did in this one, start at about two or three, and then I crank it up. When it actually happened, I found that it was the cap that it fallen into the carafe that caused hypnotic work. I was lucky that it didn’t break anything, and all work well when I put everything back in. It was good to hear from you 🌻🥰🌻

@ ok. I see. I just know that when you start to high you get those results. So if you started it on low first would it have appeared to work?

 With the original smoothie, the blades hit the cap and it stopped immediately. With this demo used to make a point about the ingredients, yes, the blades turned right away on two or three, and then I crank it up. Thanks for following up with this.🌻🥰🌻

Math laggard here. what does "25 percent by volume" mean. If you are using 1 pd greens, how much fruit in ounces do you add?
@NanSimonsen
@NanSimonsen 2 ай бұрын
Good question. “By volume” mean by visible measure, not by weight. Fill the first 3/4 of the carafe with veggies, packed in well, then add 1/4 fruit. I go for 1lb veggies, and the fruit I add weighs about that, or a bit more. I hope this helps.🌻🥰🌻

10 weeks on her raw protocol with omega-3 and it did absolutely nothing for my back pain

Oh Tony, I’m sorry to hear this. In addition to normalizing, inflammatory markers, I also got relief within four weeks of a year of pain from a right knee compound complex, multi tear bilateral meniscus. What I’ve surmised is that it was inflammation surrounding the knee that was leading to the pain, not the meniscus damage. Perhaps in your case there is structural damage to your spine that is not associated with inflammation, and that’s the ongoing pain. Her protocol focuses on cellular recovery, and inflammatory relief. Some things cannot be a narrated. I’m not speaking for her, or as a physician, simply sharing my thoughts. Again, I’m sorry. 🌻🥰🌻
