Beautiful work as always. I really love seeing all the new landscapes and different cultures. Looking forward to learning about the various Haradrim tribes and such. Hope we'll touch upon some of the former Númenórean colonies that were hinted at in official lore. You mentioned the background lore documents and "cultural migration" maps created that will never be released to the public. Honestly, I would love to see a stream from your "lorekeepers" that actually does delve more deeply into this hidden backstory material (starting from tye Eriador locations). If not a stream, it'd be great to see some sort of LOTRO "Lorebook" or "Encyclopedia" released that incorporates such material.

@ecthelion17352 ай бұрын
It's one thing to avoid leaning into stereotypes, but they exist for a reason, so going too far to avoid them produces an uncanny effect. Also, "Far Harad" is subsaharan: jungles and savanna. "Near Harad" is North Africa and the Sahara. The equator should be very far south of where you are here.

How much motivation (if any) were there to move into the more desert biomes, in part because of the second season of RoP? If so, that was a smart move to do. One thing I love to do, especially in LotR, either by watching or reading, it then motivates me to explore those areas within LotRO. I understand that this question would probably not be answered on an official level, so I can just think of it as a happy coincidence. :)

This is my fav movie for eleven years. I wished to see it earlier to get 2007 Isengard pre-order pack for those unique remarkable outfits. Maybe you might consider to put them on store some day! Also I must say that this game has huge potential. I mean HUGE! For example monster play side could be exactly like free people panel. Races could be Man, Goblin, Orc, Warg, Spider, Troll, Uruk. And classes could be on man: Angmarim, Black Numenorean, Haradrim archer, Khand Warrior. Anyway I hope some day also you might take a look on NPC apperances like Elrond, Galadriel. Heights, outfits etc.

Full proper support for a Controller for LOTRO? Not likely. Playing through Steam and using their Controller Software gives the best possible Controller Experience but has limitation such as how LOTRO has so many Skills per Class especially as one levels up.

Too bad I can't see this until it is released - 5760 * 1080 resolution is a very different perspective. The game engine screams for mercy at this res. Even my 3090FE has to wait for the engine to keep up.
@RH-of5cr2 ай бұрын
The sad part is that the UI is increasingly terrible on resolutions starting over 1920x1080. All the good work that folks like this do are very under appreciated because not many people want to play with their current UI. They don't discuss it either and say oh, it's hard, it's legacy code and would require so much effort. Legacy code bases are definitely hard to work on but you would gain customers and extend the life of this great game. At least chip away at it and make it publicly known that you are doing that. You could also utilize your community as there are lots of devs in it that likely would help for free. Yes you would need to gatekeep and manage it but if you are careful about who gets to help it could be quite a good way to tackle it. Also, if you put some effort into expanding and updating the LUA plugin apis - work could be done this way.
